How fast can you read? Definitely can be longer than 2 hours as the in-game days are pretty long.

This patch throws me at the day 8-9... i was asking about the missing images of your daughter and 2 family fotos... im just begnining the game...was wondering if that was gonna cause any dmg to save files or future cgi/images/gameplay stuff.

Yes you should but only the DM patch that say's Day 8 and Day 9 if you use any of the other DM patches like week 1 you will get errors.

If you're have the Alpha version then yes you need the Alpha, but if you have the Beta then you need the Beta DM right now is on lewdpatcher then DM but you can click on the show previous version to show the other DM patches.

I have a serious problem. I am missing 90% of the in-game images. I have the lightly compressed version, and images are missing for both the .app and .exe. I just solved a previous error that made the game unplayable but this is even worse. I'd really appreciate some help, as I've waited far too long to play this game.

Which version are you playing? For example if you're playing week 1 Alpha you only need to install three item's from that DM patch.
To install the patch, copy the following from the patch to the same place in the main game:
- archive_dm.rpa
- patch.rpy
- game/menu/options.rpy
I played the lightly compressed version with Dark Mind without issues. For you to be missing images suggests a bad install of the game in some way. You need to install the week 1 game in its own folder, not over previous versions.
If you are using the dark mind patch make sure you use the week 1 version (click previous versions, scroll to the bottom where you see Week 1 - Final and download that) install it in the main game folder (for example mine is labeled EcchiSensei-Week_1-light_compressed) and let the patch overwrite the files.
You cannot use any saves from previous versions so you need to start again.
