Well beside Final Fantasy 7 i think it was, I never knew that game before, but in FF7 I was pretty good at it and I kinda loved that card game, so yea I will wait a few updates and started trying out this VN, it sure looks interesting to me.

Triple Triad is from FF8. Though it is also in FFXIV and was also in some final fantasy app.

what fucking card game.. drop a win button on the side. I cant win the first play always draw or lose and by the 10th time i have no fun by doing this again and again deleting the game. And why the fuck is the game ending directly when im unable to win?

I will revamp the tutorial next build as it's more easy to move on. When you have access to the market in town you can just acquire some more powerful cards and that should help.

How did you get enough money on Day2 to visit the courtesans? By the time I get enough on Day3 the place is closed

Card game is weird. As far as I see there is no way to balance this game or there are an errors in code. I see, that "capturing" is not recounting on the full graph depth, but only for nearest cards. That leads to two strange patterns: you either have strong stack and "autowin", or you have draw because of every you step balanced by next step of AI.

In the Card game could you change the color of the X on the Cards when they are taken maybe to something like Black and White. Right now the colors looks a little too similar. Thanks ;)

I actually went back and redid the game to try to get to the second one who is apparently the trans one, I had over 50 gold but when I tried to go to it she said I didn't have enough gold so I just figured it wasn't even working

Good news! I've found a way to solve the issue for everyone having issues when the game breaks in the first card game.

I will release a patched version later today and will add some QoL changes, like the option to skip the tutorial altogether.

Drewbie, I think that's a bug. I'll investigate it and fix it and also deploy it in today's release

Finally, some general impressions in case they're helpful during development.
  • In triple triad, capture is an obvious flip animation (and the blue/red are more clearly shown) - I think both of these would help board comprehension.
  • As well as red/blue being hard to see at a glance, the rarity is a bit hard to read from the current card frames.
  • Currently cards are made as PNGs with both the numbers and the red/blue as part of the image. If you can, I'd split the card frame from the image, and composite in the game. That would mean making fewer card images, and be easier to tweak them later for balance and flavor.
  • Being able to click on a card to see the image a little larger would be helpful.
  • Some obvious theming to the characters would be cool, for instance Anya having strong left+right cards. Opponents with more directional cards also makes deck variations to beat them a bit more fun.
  • Being able to see your available cards outside of a match would help (and deck building etc later).
  • Being able to see your gold (and items? where did the pastry go, did I eat it?) would be handy too.
  • The progressive scenes with regions are neat, the slide in animation is perhaps a bit too chunky? Maybe tweak the easing?
  • Ideally time passing should be super clear in the interface options . Some extra text or a marker if visiting a location or picking an option will advance time?

I love triple triad but my biggest problem with it in this game is I just cannot tell which cards I've won so I have to just remember, which is annoying.

I have medically bad eye problems including color problems. I can see colors, but if the difference is just a tiny small area i often can't tell differences. If they had like, a thick border or something I could tell, but whatever they have now I can't.
