After finding some free time, I decided to finish this VN until the end of the content.
In general, it left me with very good feelings, among which I can name:
- The story is generally very good.
- The quality of the renders is excellent.
- The pacing (for the most part)
- A good number of characters, neither too few nor too many.
- The animations, although not all scenes are animated, the ones that are show that the developer knows what he is doing.
- Including an option to skip the puzzles is a nice touch, and while I liked them, it shows that the developer is listening to its community.
Still, at a certain point in the story, specifically with the inclusion of Ryland's character, things start to feel a little... forced to me. Let's see...
Warning: there are spoilers all over the place.
Diana starts out as a free-spirited character, which is perfect, but she has always been centered and disciplined.
But after the scene of the night attack and choosing the option "make a move" (which gives +1 of relationship with Ryland, I repeat
+1), she automatically turns into a completely different person from the one she was before, totally surrendered to Ryland. She will repeat and repeat that she is married, but in the end none of this will matter. It doesn't matter if you want to avoid relations with him later, because she will be bound to him.
For example, you can avoid the first blowjob scene, but she will still show him her tits... But the scene with them in the car, you can't avoid it. And while we're on the subject of that scene, I want to say that it's very hot, yeah, but also kind of absurd, because the conversation between them can be summed up as follows:
- R: "Hey, let's fuck."
- D: "No, I'm married"
- R: "Please"
- D: "Okay, fine"
And if it can't be avoided, why does Ryland need a relationship bar when
1 point automatically makes Diana totally submissive to him?
Also, I found her reunion with Jason after he left the house... weird... I mean, Diana is a grown woman, and especially considering the dangers she faces (even at the beginning of the game, she is very concerned about her family's safety), she should understand why Derreck took him out of the house. But instead of understanding, she acts like she is angry or offended with him (Jason) for following Derreck instead of staying with her, completely ignoring the fact that an assassin broke into her house the night before and therefore that place is not safe for him at all. Speaking about Derreck, I didn't like the fact that his fight with Diana was shown quickly, without much detail, and as a falshback. I don't know if the developer was in a hurry to clear the way for Ryland to gain ground, but this argument between Derreck and Diana should have been given more emphasis, as it's a major point of conflict.
And that would be all. I want to make it clear that I really liked and enjoyed this VN, and if I'm here writing this, it's because I'm really interested in it and I see a lot of potential in it. Cheers!
