What’s New in the Welcome Week Update

You will also meet a few new faces who will play important roles in the story moving forward, with more choices that shape how your connections develop.
Alongside that, we have introduced and expanded a variety of in game systems that will grow into core parts of the experience as development continues.

Here's a list of some of what you can expect!

What’s Next
From the beginning, our goal was to provide our supporters with opportunities to influence the development of the game in as many ways as possible. So, after Patreon supporters have had time to experience the Welcome Week Update, we will be launching a poll to decide which character will receive their first exclusive update dedicated to exploring their story in depth.
This poll will include details about the first chapter of each character's story to help you decide on your vote.

This poll will have an enormous impact on the future of Edgefield, so if you're interested in supporting your favorite character, please stay tuned for more info on this in near future.

Serious, non-snarky question. Do you read the text when you talk to the characters or just skip through it?

The reason I ask is that I've seen this issue (can't find the theatre) a lot in this thread. In an as-far-as-I-know unavoidable conversation with the proctors telling you what to do next, though, they literally tell you to look at the map on the wall, otherwise you won't be able to find your way around.

I find the ways that games try to point you in the right direction in a vaguely open world without just playing for you interesting, from HL2 and cinematic cues to E33 and the light paths. The dev's use of that tool to point you toward a map of campus that would give you a sense of what you'll be working with in the later game seemed effective to me, so I'm wondering where it failed to connect the dots for a lot of players.

Wow, what a stupid review.

If anyone expects a complete refined and finished gameplay experience from a sandbox Renpy VN that barely had one update, he must be either completely new to this site or completely delusional.
Yeah I had the same thought, like what are they talking about? It's still early and devs only released 1-2 updates. What do you expect from them?

I'm guessing I missed most of the content for this patch, unless there was no content at all for a "straight male playthrough", one cheeky pic of the "Emi lookalike" that's it :/ so far this feels like a classic empty sandbox, maybe 1 or 2 interactions per in-game day, a couple minutes of content all in all. So either I missed A BUNCH or this was complete rubbish..
its only 2 updates, chill

i think there execting the mona lisa after 2 updates, you know everything has to be clean and polished to perfection, if not then in there eyes the game is shit and the story and plot don`t matter

No, not really. But a bare minimum of content to reflect the amount of time supposedly put into development would have been nice.

It's not a finished product. In fact it's quite early in its development lifetime. The author is either exceptionally disingenuous or a colossal idiot.

Lol these sort of reviews exist on all early-access / unfinished games. It's funny how upset people can get over something that is free.
