u mean the december update with the bug fixes?January update released about a week ago.
no, literaly, is a new update, ftom patreonu mean the december update with the bug fixes?
One of the progression systems is called SUPPLY which is still in infancy (since its not like there's loads of currencies, items, or resource interactions yet).which is weird, most turn based rpgs, specially ones with very expanse worlds (for very long plays) have save feature exactly so you can give a time of the run and start it when you come back.
those are essential, games like Noita or TBOI (They're not nsfw games nor even published here) have VERY LONG RUNS overall, because teh developers know the maps/stages are enormous (if you accumulate them that much) and you gotta squeeze each portion of the map to ease your run on future, with so many mechanics and things to take care, SPECIALLY on a turn-based game (Turn based games ALWAYS HAVE LONG RUNS)
by having save feature, it allows players to explore/study the game while also having their break. (What i'm saying, are that people naturally will avoid exploring the map, and trying always the linear route realizing the lack of save, out of fear to waste time on something and get punished by it.)
i think the developer still shouldn't add a save system like your average pokemon game where you lose and "woopsie... lemme save scum baack to life", Dev SHOULD KEEP the permadeath stuff, it's a roguelite after all, but at least saving the run you didn't lost yet.

Besides the fruits there is ALSO a way to get stronger monsters genetically (they can eat more fruits). AND monsters can be shiny (or SUPER shiny).
It just feels wrong to throw away prized breeders or shinies between runs.
(Although for now you start with shiny brushes, game is ALPHA, brushes should be a SUPPLY reward).
BUT the biggest reason I wanted to add a save function, and NAMING function to the game is because I want players to get attached to their prized fighters / breeders / workers. It's good for the game, and thus me, if people associate EGGOMON as the game where their cute prized monsters are. Hopefully they will want to check in as the game develops. The biggest obstacle to this being there isn't a story, or adventure, to bond with them through struggle, yet.
Good news is that is some of the easiest stuff to do, or most retread ground, in any game engine. Its the mechanics and balancing that is hard.
From what I've seen pretty much the game is still early so their isn't much of a objective really. It's just sorta find monsters get them to mate with your characters and create stronger monsters but how much stronger Idk since I've not really cared about any of the I guess mutations or so they sometimes come with since it's mostly just the art and the concept at this super early stage in the game. Its virtually a survival to see how long you can last before every woman you have is busy pregnant and you lose. Some minor progression I think with the supply stuff the more fights/fucks and stuff you do I believe but I really dont pay attention too it much outside maybe using it to get a stone to evolve a monster. You need to go around at the start finding stones (Usually to the west of the map of spawn a few zones) to evolve if you get lucky and some trees but those got nerfed or completely changed which honestly the trees do need to go back to giving stones as well since its very tedious to start every run go left to get things then see what you get. And there is 1 working quest in the options that you can toggle to do one of the boss fights but as for combat its mostly just find the type that beats the enemies or just neutrally dps race the enemy monsters down. Some items to make your monsters stronger and a feeding system to keep them happy and not force your character in a chance of losing them to pregnancy but being that its kinda good to lose 1 or 2 early if you want to reliably see specific monsters mate.Alright so I'm totally lost in the game, can someone please share some basics ?

No expert on this so some of this could be missing some details but thats the main things of the game at this time. I haven't played the newest update if it changed anything yet so if something I said has changed it could be that as well.
Save monsters between runs by using a name tag on them.Cool new pokemon or whatever but I'm not playing 3 hours to see them.
If only there was some way to maintain my progress between sessions...
