I still can not unlock the Girls Are Icky achievement. I get it to where there are no girls interested in me and all that happens is the story is started over.

I agree. I also think adding a harem route would be fun. I mean the MC is trying to spread his seed to as many women as possible, so it only makes sense he'd end up with a harem.
He's not trying to spread to as many as possible. He's just trying to make sure it survives. Throughout human history, generally having offspring is the way to do that. The vast majority of the time, you don't need 75 women to ensure your line's survival. Have a few kids and the chances are very high (barring a war or plague or something) that your lineage will continue well into the future.

Sure, the chances go up if you have a lot more children, and having multiple women is one way to do that. There also is IVF (since this game takes place in modern times), so tons of that could also easily ensure a bunch of children. I don't think a harem route would work well in this game at all, TBH. Too many women are either at odds directly with each other, don't get along (even if not actively against others), or have low enough self-esteem that other women would hurt them badly. I see no way a harem could ever work with this story.

Hello, fans of Element-174! This is Knotty here to provide an update on the development of "Element-174 - Part 2." Today saw the completion of day 20 of 21 for Part 2. And despite taking longer than I had hoped, it contained quite a lot of content. For example here is how much content was added in day 20 along with some comparisons of previous updates (regarding lines of code/dialogue and still images).

  • Days 1-6 combined - Lines of code: 19009, images: 870
  • Day 18 (previous longest) - Lines of code: 22405, images: 790
  • Day 20 - Lines of code: 25534, images: 986
So the latest update which took several months to complete is already the largest batch of content yet. As you can see, day 20 actually has more stuff than almost the entire first half of "Part 1." Going through the numbers right now "Part 2" actually contains 122,985 lines of code and dialogue so far through days 15-20. While "Part 1" has 107,581 lines of code/dialogue in comparison. And there is still day 21 which should add another 20,000 lines to complete the DLC. The fact that the DLC of Element-174 has more content than the base game is part of why it's taken so long to release this sequel. And frankly, it's a lot for one person to manage alone. But it is coming to its eventual release date soon.

Which brings us to the current release timeline. Right now, the last part of the game that needs to be finished is the final update aka Day 21. As of right now, the Steam store page lists the release date scheduled for late February (already pushed back from early January). This is an optimistic timeline and even though I've grinded out more hours in the past few months in order to meet these deadlines, it's still taking quite a bit of time given how much work there is. Ideally, once I am able to complete the actual game, it will still need to be submitted for review. This process can take weeks if there are issues and if not approved within 2 weeks of the listed release date, I'll need to push it back again. There is also the next Steam sale which could bump up against any future release dates. So there are a lot of moving parts involved, but in the spirit of transparency, I wanted to be honest with where things stand. There's no one who wants this game to be released more than me after dedicated years of my life to it. I just ask that everyone be a little patient now that the release is so close.

The final bit of information I wanted to share was the intended price for "Element-174 Part 2." Despite being larger than the base game, I thought it would be fair to price it at the original price of $11.99 USD (individual country pricing may apply). This will officially be added to coincide with the review process later. So hang in there, patient fans of Element-174! The wait is almost over!
