To answer the "why was the MC even there" question, I'd say "making friends". I thought the scene was fine as filler. It was a relatively realistic event - guy goes to the pub with two new friends who happen to be a couple. I didn't find anything weird about it.

Some of the stuff from the first meeting with Jo and Chlo (did I see them referred to as "Joey"?) was weird, with the slapping and overbearing statements leading up to that, but I liked the pair a lot more after this meeting. Both looked great as well, which obviously helps.

Obviously they are on the LI list, so eventually, if you get everything right, there will be opportunities with them, presumably joining them as a throuple, and the sex tips given in the last episode look to be the first steps towards softening them up. I can see this being a fun path to follow, if it's done well.

The stuff about "turning/joining lesbians" etc. is just the assumption because the girls are listed as LIs and some of the stuff the dev has written/said about them. Take that out of the equation though, because it's not involved here, and I thought it was a nice scene, wholesome almost.

The girls are open-minded enough to realise that MC might not actually be a dickhead, and they're giving him a chance. If you're not a dick or a blatant horndog in your conversation with them, it could be the start of a good friendship. And I'm not disputing your view, because you're your own person, but for me, I don't get the bit about being friends with them but only if there are other people around as well. It doesn't really seem like friends, you're pretty much just acquaintances in that scenario, only seeing each other and talking briefly at parties, etc.

Disappointed I'm not into team sluts or lesbians and the party had a creepy rape vibe at this pace 14 more episodes takes between 7 and 10 years to finish the game. The visuals and scene writing is top notch though.

i have a bit of a nitpick now. i suspected things were going go this route in episode 3 but kind of confirmed it after episode 4. this game is tagged as a harem. meaning multiple girls knowingly going into a long term romantic/sexual relationship (always has the romance part though sometimes to minor degrees) and there is no real "dedicated" main romance path with any single girl......and then the twins popped the question.....and that kind of just blew this up for me because if you turn them down and take the "Fuckboy" path pretty much just blowjobs per their own statement from then on and just friends. take the twins path you pretty much are locked in and cannot have any other romance paths with the other girls......therefore. this game in NOT an actual effin' harem. fuck me i hate it when dev do this bs. Harem is just not a simple free for all. people may say i'm being overly critical but damn it if you have specific romance lock ins for character in the damn story and said npc's state very clearly no more fucking around with other girls (which means can't add more to the HAREM) then that means this game is just not a damn harem. suck because iw aqs kind of low key enjoying the game and story even with all the excess political bs shoehorned in.

Who said you can not have other paths...the choice for cuddels doesn't lock anything.
Also harem doesn't mean every single girl is part of it and there can be other paths, solo, throuples, partial harems etc.

The harem tag is still valid. Harem means having relationships with more than one person. The twins are considered a harem because they are sharing you. They just want you to be exclusive to them. Also, there is a skill that allows you to turn every girl into a harem. Even if one girl wants you exclusively you have other girls that are ok with sharing you, the harem tag is still valid.

Also, you could try different paths skills and girls create different save points and outcomes. That is what I did. For the next episode. I have a save point that I went down the scholar tree and milf to try to hook up with the professors and Noami. If they want me to be exclusive then I create a save point from there and try it out.
