I for one hate Harem Wars (but still play until I win because I ain't no bitch) and im going to commit the eggregious sin of assuming I'm in the majority (if I'm wrong, don't let me know). It's such a badly made piece of shit that sits on the otherwise incredible meal that is Elmwood.

I'm not hating on mini games in this AVN or any other either, just this one specific aspect to this one specific game. And so it's so interesting to think that WW puts all this effort and love into something that most people don't like.
I don't have a problem with the game as a concept. It's basically a reskin of Triple Triad from Final Fantasy VIII. The execution is another matter, however. It runs painfully slow, you start with a pitiful card pool, and you only get one new (scripted) card per opponent (and they aren't much better than the cards you started with), meaning there's no reason to replay anyone after the first time, etc.

If I had to identify the two worst problems, it'd be that you don't get to pick a card to strengthen your deck, and that your opponents have a limited deck themselves. Combined, these two things both prevent the game from being rewarding, and prevent it from being surprising. You basically just save scum your way to victory. By changing both of these things, the game would have better progression and feel more rewarding to play. Maybe do something like give the opponents ~20 cards to construct a deck out of. These 20 cards don't all have to be different mind you, with duplicates being weaker or stronger depending on how strong the opponent is supposed to be, since that increases the likelihood of drawing that particular card being drawn.

I've played the minigame once and I hope I never have to play it again.

That's my biggest issue with the Harem Wars thus far. I'm actually enjoying it, although I've always liked card games, so I'm a bit biased in that regard. However, it doesn't help that you only really get one good card with the first kiss, but afterwards they're just mediocre/decent cards that don't really pose a huge difference in your strategy. I actually beat Violet during her three games, thinking that I'd get something very good in return, but the only reward is for the first win.
And yeah, the way the girls play their cards is always the same depending on where you place your cards and when, and save-scumming it's the only 'proper' way to win, because 9 out of 10 times I always get a draw.

There should be more ways to get more and different cards. I understand that we're still at Episode 3 (soon 4) and that there'll 21, But I believe I'm still missing 42 cards from the deck, and if we still get one card per episode, then it would be a bit unbalanced.
We should be getting new cards for rematches (at least for the first one) or have them hidden on certain renders, I don't know, but at least help in terms on making or deck more varied.

I read on discord that previously it was scheduled to be released in july, but due to some rework in previous chapters it was delayed
He upgraded the model of all the girls and further customized their genitals (mainly of girls that hadn't even shown them).
This is only going forward, he won't rework the previous chapters iirc.

Those changes won't break saves.
