freqmain great idea in review! Stream mode, some advertising, and maybe someone would choose to stream it.
And since its choices driven VN - the odds of viewer playing it himself are waaay better than with usual twitch game.

Finally a game which charms the mind with wonderful writing.
As a writer myself i enjoyed this way more than i anticipated.
Sad that there is so little spicy content but i can see the way this is going it will be amazing once we are a few updates further in.

This - this is the biggest issue I see in basically all VN's.
Even the most popular ones are sooooo badly written. Half of the games I launch - I delete after 5 minutes of playing.
It's either sex from the first scene and every other minute, or 30 minutes booooooooring exposition.
Devs really need to give more love to "show don't tell" worldbuilding.

Yes. Somehow many devs have the wrong idea about what people want. They want to escape reality but be close to it. Not 200 superpower stories about blonde women with giant hookers who either yell "fucky fucky, sucky sucky me love you long time" in the first 30 seconds after start. OR and thats way worse. They add 50 characters with no depth. Shallow characters, shallow story with minigames cause... fuck it thats why.
The best games i have seen so far have all one thing in common aside from good renders and animations. Damn good writing. Be it characters, story or plot. Even if in those games the exposition is long people are hooked or invested.
We really need more devs like here who focus on story, characters and world building through actions and writing instead of a bazillion renders that we forget in 20 seconds.

I feel sadden how a lot of good VN's turn into clusterfuck shitshow after 2nd act.
The game start's out interesting, there is a hook, some enjoyable dialouges, original idea. You get to know characters, you start picking your favourites and less liked ones. And right when you get invested...
Am I though? I mean... not from me, obviously, but don't those people get like paid to do them?
If you suck at writing, have no idea about pacing, structure of plot, player behaviours - idk, maybe don't write a VN?

VN writing doesn't need to be good to be succesful.
VN would be as much succesful if it had good writing.
Because it all doesn't matter at all for current fans - who just want to DL gallery mode and jerk off I guess? Or whatever they do.
And most of the time - it would actually save time and work from the dev, because the issue often is too much of something xD
So no. Let's compromise - devs keep doing VN's for fans, but don't write them if they are bad at it.
I get: an enjoyable story.
You get: less pressing of CTRL
Dev get: more income
I don't care what you get and you don't know what I get. In fact, what you get doesn't matter at all. Not even a little. That is the point I'm making and you keep dacing around.

It has themes that I hate and waaaay to much erotic content for my liking.
But - it claimed a spot in TOP3 best written VN's right away - transition scenes, filler scenes, the way it handles paths, the off-dialouge "acting" and many many more small details that clearly show the skill of Developer as VN writer.
So... yeah, I rest my case.
Are you a shitty writer? Just do the fuckin porn animation and save everyone trouble. Let writes write and programmers program.

Quite the opposite. One has to expect good writing and gameplay in order to pay money to further invest in a game, book, movie, music.
If no one expects much of such projects no one would pay money would they?
Please do not call the shitty devs authors. That way you also downtalk the dev of this game who in terms of writing is in the top 5% of all games on this board.
I am an author and thats an insult to my profession. There is no opinion in this regard. There are devs who can write on author level and some even above and there are devs who couldn't understand a single sentence from "the tempest" or "faust" if their life would be depending on it.
If you wish to debate this point with me i can guarantee you will make an absolute fool out of yourself. (first and only warning)
You do not speak for all fans either. After almost 30 years in the business i can tell you one thing for certain. "Fans do not know what they want" One side wants this and the other side wants that. Sprinkle on top the rest wants something completely different. What you settle on as a business decision more than once is not what YOU would like but what actually sells most copies, makes the publisher happy and makes them also alot of money.
Money talks, bullshit walks.
If you have the luxury of not giving a shit as you have enough money to do so you can start writing whatever the fuck you want and go under like the titanic with it. The publisher drops you, the fans drop you like a hot potato and your income drops as well.
Same with games and this dev or any dev. If you wanna make money in the long run show that you can do it better. Be it renders, animations, writing, plot, character depth, sub plot elements, motivations of characters, logical story steps etc.
You should either get writing or reading classes.

If one does not know what you get and you do not care what someone else gets. And in fact it does not matter what anyone gets or does not get. That would mean there is no point to get as the point does not matter.
A perfect example of how good writing like the dev of "elvensang" has goes a long way. And how bad writing is running in circles with alot of words not saying anything in the process.
