Does new episodes mean continuation from previous stories and choices, they all related and matter or its like each episode is fresh new story but same characters?

Think of it like a sitcom. Each episode is designed to be standalone, but collectively they do tell a loose plot across the entire season. Character relationships will develop over the course of the season, while each episode focuses on a unique storyline or event. I feel that one of the biggest problems we have with AVGs is strict adhesion to a rigid linear story because eventually the step-by-step-by-step nature of linear stories becomes a drag. Event A has to happen so that event B can happen so that we can get to Event C. Instead, we want to focus more on the characters; we think that will allow for more flexibility to tell the stories we want to tell to keep the game fun.

I totally understand your predicament, and I think we have a satisfactory compromise planned. Without spoiling too much, part 2 of Episode 2 will introduce the lesbian content in the game. We envision Emily's sexual preference on a spectrum, and players can influence where she falls on the spectrum. She'll never be completely straight, but players that choose to will be able to eventually guide her to a heavy preference for women. It won't be overnight, and we're cautious to not make too many branching paths too early, but we do eventually foresee a route where players who choose a lesbian-focus can avoid all/almost all straight sex as the game goes on.

As I said, that's something we want to give players later. Story wise we want to expose Emily to every option and then let her make decisions from there. Practically...well we want to keep the coding simple for now. This is all new to us so we'd rather deliver fun updates instead of trying to create the perfect game from episode 1 that gives endless options.

I want to be very clear on this topic: the first few episodes will see Emily exploring and experimenting. After that players will get more agency as their version of Emily begins to discover what she likes. If you're into lesbian sex, you'll have the option, if you only want straight content, you'll have that choice too. So if you're asking if there's any way to avoid sex with Nick in episodes 1 and 2, no there isn't. To me that doesn't rule out a pure lesbian route going forward, but if even a single straight-event taints a lesbian route, then sorry you're out of luck.

If they do not establish rules of engagement, things will get out of hand. Add in, that they were speaking disrespectfully about her based on hearsay, before ever laying eyes on her, in public. Emily seems to be too easy early in the game, inviting strangers over, based on proximity alone. Mae West: why don't you stop over and see me some time.

That part seemed weird to me as well. She just demanded some respect, she wasn't a bitch. At least not anywhere near how the game portrayed it. Maybe with the singling out of people during presentation, though.

The exploratory phase will be relatively short. The core cast is pretty much fully introduced at this point.

When people say a pure lesbian route, they mean a route without sex scenes with men.

The word “pure” is used to specify this and separate it from routes where you can end up with a woman but are still forced to have sex scenes with men.
