You can find the code on the portrait of Nenad and his wife in their apartment. It is in the top right - look closely

If you hold down the space bar it will show you all important items in the scene.
For this 'puzzle', you would need to pick up the stick on the desk, and get the hook from the bucket.
Use the stick on the keyhole to push the key out
Use the hook on the key to retrieve it
use the key on the door
and Viola!

So, how do I get blue Elixir? The game suggests I already have some, I don't and the only Mushrooms available to pick in the cave is the orange mushroom

Then you encounter a bug or you didn't talk with mother about becoming a man quest.
Not sure if it's just me but I can't seem to scroll to the right in the cave to then access the "magical cave" to get the orange mushroom unless I've got things mixed up?
