Yes, at first such thoughts are heard and then the devs release 1 update once a year and these people are still happy! Probably to each his own, but from 3-4 months the dev bend over to 8-10, this is not cool, dude!

I agree, even if a game is good, if a lot of time passes between updates it loses interest unless you really like the story, it has happened to me with several games where it takes so long that I forget everything it is about and its characters, but EI for me is definitely a game that is worth the wait and still has reasonable development times.
