Finished all 3 episodes and I loved it! My favorite is Ashe x Fiona for sure but didn't dislike a single character so far!

Dang that's kind of a bummer. Like Zoey's cool and all but she had no story other than the girl who ordered pizza once lol. Would have rather it been any of the other women who had more developed story T . T

True say, while her giver virginity is given to Zoey who is cool, i could defo see other more fleshed out characters who could have got it. Dev i hope you give Ashe's receiver virginity to a character that has more investment (please Fiona).
I expected Ashe's first sexual relationship to be with Evelyn, Rachel or Fiona, I never expected it to be with Fiona's gf, sad!

The main reason this bugs me is that the game has given choices for getting involved and sexually involved with characters prior.
- choice to give Fiona handjob
- choices to allow cop Natasha's sexual advances -> if you refuse, the door opens for Lexi involvement
- choice to be interested in Kate
- I assume the choice to make advances on Evelyn will matter
- I assume choices with Vanessa will matter for their relationship
I thought by choosing to give Fiona the handjob it meant that was the direction where Ashe's relationship path would go, but it just immediately got overwritten by Zoey without a choice. It makes sense in the story because Ashe has been hell bent on losing her virginity and that episode 4 will be the chaos of repercussions. But as a player it didn't feel good to choose Fiona, and then literally next scene it's somebody else.

Many want Fiona or Rachel but what about the cupcake of love that is Delilah? I wish Ashe had kissed her in that closet and then had her first time with her, anyway we have to wait to have an opportunity in future chapters.

Well if you go through the thread there are actually quite a high amount of people being smitten with Deliah as their main LI ... sadly i can't see having Del and Fiona at the same time ...

. I'll try to give some context to what led to the Zoey scene since I see a lot of people share the same sentiment as you. I don't want to spoil future things so I'll keep it vague with some of it.Ashe needed to lose her virginity at some point. It's clear that she was desperate for this to happen and that she maybe attributed a bit too many of her problems to her being a virgin.
One can assume that losing her virginity will boost Ashe's confidence, but at the same time also lead to a realization that maybe that alone won't fix everything. There's also some other (future) story ramifications that I won't go into right now. But all in all, it was important that it happened when it did.
The importance of that whole event meant that it couldn't be optional either since it dictates the story going forward in a pretty major way. So, rejecting Zoey and waiting for the next opportunity with someone else wasn't an option here.
So, why Zoey and not a more central character? A few reasons...
With some characters, the relationship just isn't there yet and needs more time to develop.
With others, this scene would have clashed with what's in store for them in the future. For example... there'll be an option to keep things with Fiona more or less platonic. Having Ashe lose her virginity to her wouldn't make much sense in this case.
From a narrative perspective, it was also important that this event was a sexual encounter on the more casual side instead of a deeply-in-love romantic thing.
So with all that, a relatively minor character like Zoey was the best choice.
All that being said, this of course doesn't invalidate your (and other's) criticism. I can see it being frustrating when the choice is taken away from the player and I may have underestimated how many people would be bothered by it when I wrote it initially.
I can say that there will be more choices up to the players in future episodes, especially when it comes to who Ashe will hook up with. I'm especially looking forward to Episode 4 since it'll have some very exciting things in that regard.

It is important for all of us to understand and remember that meaningful player choice necessarily interferes with the storyteller's ability to tell a cohesive story. Every meaningful choice which the author allows the audience to make requires the creation of an alternate storyline. This doesn't mean that it's a bad thing for storytellers to allow the audience to make meaningful choices. It just means that it makes more work (sometimes a lot more work) for the storyteller, and causes the story to become less well defined.
Personally, I like it when I, as a member of the audience, am allowed to make choices which have a meaningful impact on the story. However, I like it at least as well, and possibly more, when a story is well defined - assuming, of course, that it's a good story well told.
My own conclusion, then, is that it's a good thing for the storyteller to give the audience meaningful choices, but not too many. What the correct number of meaningful choices is, I can't say. I think that's something the storyteller has to decide.

As Lecher said, at some points, story needs to be king. Everyone has shown they have a different preference on who Ashe should be hooking up with as their main squeeze. Can you imagine how much work that would be for Morrigan? To render every single possible first time you all want to see with exactly the right person? Unless every single character is at the same sleepover event at the same time (which would need one hell of an explanation story-wise) there is no one singular event where every option would be freely open to players for who to pick for that important moment.
So that means each one would need to occur at a different place and time, meaning that in some storylines Ashe would remain a virgin for ages while in others it would happen really early. So not only does Morrigan now have to render those scenes, they have to plot out storylines with wildly differing character behaviour 'at the same time' as far as in-universe time goes. As such a moment is going to result in some changes to Ashe's behaviour from the moment forward.
Having a defined moment for such a thing not only has story benefits, but it means that the character can remain consistent without requiring a year between each update just to make sure everyone has their cake. At the end of the day, VNs are not games. They are stories you are being told that contain a visual component. They're a book with pictures. And even Choose Your Own Adventure books had limited numbers of choices between actual story elements. It is just not possible to give players all the choices and tell your story at the same time.
I mostly give this advice in fanfiction, so it's a little bit harder to do here, but if a story goes somewhere you don't like, you can always just write your own one. Sure, coding and rendering are a bit harder than just writing something. But give it a go anyway. Best case scenario, you make something amazing that others love and we all get more content. Worst case scenario, you gain a greater understanding of how much work making something like this is and get a little more respect for the folks out here doing it.
It's not like the software being used just has a text box where you enter the parameters and it spits out content for you to upload. Every moment has to be planned and written. Every character model has to be designed and perfected. Every scene has to be built and furnished. Every moment needs to be lit and framed. Every choice creates a new branch in an ever-growing tree of paths that the dev must remain on top of. Every character has to have a personality and traits that then guide the story's direction down those paths. All of it is piles and piles of work that the dev puts in. A never-ending output of creativity. Because our brains don't stop thinking about this stuff because we call time out either. Inspiration and ideas hit whenever they damned well feel like it. And we have to capture them or they can vanish forever. Brains are arseholes like that.
Zoey might not be exactly who I'd have loved to see Ashe spend her first time with, but it was still fucking hot. Well rendered, well written, fun. It didn't feel wrong for Ashe as a character.
Story has to be the most important part of a VN. Otherwise, they just become directionless renderfests trying to cater to every interest. And the story stalls out and we don't get anywhere. Sure, you might have something you want to wank to, but without a story, that's just porn. And there is already so much plotless porn out there. it's nice to have something with substance to go to instead.

It’s just that people are accustomed to date sims, where the main thing is not the plot, but the choice of partners and the development of relationships with them.
I like the story, but I'd still like to give it a try. Can you tell me where to start and how to learn? Or maybe there is something about it on this site, I don’t know.

I've played a little bit with DAZ Studio for making renders. From what I've heard it appears to be one of the easiest to use. But there is also Blender and Maya and other options. And Honey Select is responsible for lots of content on here. For making the game portion most use Renpy or RPGMaker. Though Unity and other such actual game engines can also be used, but that would surely be a lot more work.
I've not personally tried making a game. As I mentioned above, it's a lot of work wrangling it all together. I keep my creative works to the occasional DAZ render and fanfic writing. But I am certain that there will be a section of F95 where you can at least get tips and tricks on the process, if not outright guides. I know a few dev discords where they have such sections as well.
The guides are definitely out there. I just don't have links I can give you. But hit up the front page and see what sections are there, might lead you in the right direction. Or maybe someone can advise a few keywords to search.
