Bit of an issue, I can't seems to figure out how to continue the story after the character births the egg.

The lactation mechanism also seems to be non-functional for some reason.
You need to drag the egg from your inventory and drop it onto the terrain with the interaction/dialogue. After that, you can grow a new plant - and command it to grow tentacle-like roots to climb the canyon wall.
As for the lactation mechanic, it's unlocked through the story. It works like a power: in the world I imagined, the protagonist has (almost) full control over her body, so she can activate it at will - though, up until now, she never had a reason to use it.

Wha
Got Milk Update is Here!
I've uploaded the Dev Build featuring the lactation system, breast expansion, and all related assets for idle, walking, and animated scenes.
There are two buttons in the character menu to increase/decrease breast size and internal food storage - these are for dev testing only, and will be replaced in the story update.
This release also includes Vulkan and Linux builds. (The Linux version was tested using WSL - so hopefully it works fine!)
If you experience bugs like a black screen, try running the console version - you can copy and paste the log so I can analyze what’s going wrong.
Important: saves created with this dev build won’t be compatible with future story updates!

The next update will introduce the sound system, and after that, the story update that concludes Act 0 (the canyon section).
What's the difference between Open GL and Vulkan version

What's the difference between Open GL and Vulkan version
The game itself is the same - the only difference is the rendering API used by Godot 4.4.
Usually, OpenGL 3 is more compatible (but less performant) than Vulkan.
However, depending on your hardware and software, OpenGL 3 might have issues, while Vulkan could work correctly.

So, I compiled both versions: if one doesn't work (e.g., black screen), the other one will (hopefully)!

You need to drag the egg from your inventory and drop it onto the terrain with the interaction/dialogue.
It's very difficult to make this work as the hit box is small and doesn't correspond to anything special in the scenery. So for those who are struggling: it's halfway between the two spots that triggered conversations before (the humid spot and the cliff that can't be climbed).

Hmm... since many players are having trouble with this, I'll add a parallel mode in the next release using the dialogue system.
This way, you'll be able to either drag & drop the item, or trigger the event through a dialogue option (if you have the right item in your inventory).

Little content to go off of, but what's there looks promising. Love the multiple belly / boob sizes and the pixel art. As a preg fan, I really like the idea of birthing different creatures to solve puzzles / progress the game. It's very rare for games to make pregnancy part of the core gameplay.

I can only hope for this project to take off and fly high.

To be clear; You can not plant the pod into the ground.
Or Am I missing the hit box?
It just keeps in doing the dialogues of either or
of plant it in moist soil,
here is good stop to plant it.

There's a dark spot you can plant it on (in the empty dead-end location), closer to the right end of location. The way it's drawn makes it look like it's a part of background. It's small enough to potentially require multiple attempts to actually drag the thing exactly into it.
