If you don't turn far enough, it won't open, the lockpick eventually breaks.
Same if you turn it TOO far btw. Have to slowly move a bit and try if it opens

same, but not sure if it was downloaded from here, got it sometime ago but since it isn't a completed game, I can wait
if this one is 3 and the abandoned one is 2, that's not a sequel, it's a prequel, king.

Use the car, go to the Northern Neighborhood then continue going left and explore the area. You will find the jungle and the new enemies.
