VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.7.5 Public] [Caribdis]

Man I loved this game, the character models are gorgeous and custom instead of just using the same handful of models I’ve seen in a dozen other games. The sex scenes are just oozing eroticism because the plot takes its time building up to each scene with plenty of teasing and foreplay instead of just being another fuckfest. The animations are also very well done and fluid with custom animations instead of just the same old stock positions. the characters are gripping and well personified with their own motivations and goals and are enjoyable to read, I normally don’t like VR plots but I found this one really engaging I think its because of the “real life” consequences for MC and crew. The emotional scenes really hit me in the feels any AVN that makes me feel things in addition to horny is a success in my book. Looking forward to more

The best visual novel i have ever played.
The gameplay is simple as it is just just a vn, but in certain parts of the story it just changes gameplay style, which I was pleasantly surprised with when it happened, I also really enjoyed when genres changed depending on what servers the Mc and the crew were in. The models are just perfect, the body proportions are much more realistic than other games. The scenes are well animated and also really hot, the dialogue is also on point . The only real problem I had with the game is the amount of scenes with Luna are not enough at all.
So with all that said i give the game 5/5 Walter Whites.

I went in to this eager to play it quickly and leave a bad review to spite yet another overrated game - as it's not the usual style of game I prefer (I generally find harem games boring and predictable). Boy was I let down in that regard.

It was either Michael Bay or Jerry Bruckheimer who said something like:
"We are not in the film industry. We are in the transportation industry. Audiences pay us to be transported to another world for a few hours."

That's exactly what this game is. You are transported to a different world, incredibly enjoyable and makes you forgot all about whatever you were doing in your real world room prior. In an age when too many games are just boring derivative works, this demonstrates there're still people who can dream; a very human creativity.



Art-

Decent, I'm personally not a fan of the honest select look and prefer the Daz realistic approach, but the art is still very passable here, and it helps all the girls have fairly realistic bodies and proportions which I enjoy. Skin textures are great. Some of the characters blend together in appearance which is a minor downside, however the personalities are sufficiently unique so this wasn't a big deal.

Animation-

Fairly good. Some animations could be a little more detailed or longer, but this is a minor quibble. They're still better than most games, and flow seamlessly with the gameplay.

Dialogue-

Fantastic. Easy to follow and become immersed in. Lacks the annoying trends frequently found like a whiny MC or broken English. Feels very polished, clearly hard work went into proofing it.

-Mechanics/UI

Solid, easy to navigate menus, with well-designed layout for reviewing past scenes. Other than that, typical renpy fare which is to say easy to use and move around in.

-Story/game flow

As alluded to in my lede, very much the high point of the game. For those who haven't played it without spoiling it, the story involves vastly different scenery and settings over a span of time, all well done and engaging. It feels very much like an epic tale.

Summary-

Overall, an easy hard 5, no rounding here. If you haven't played this, stop reading reviews and click download now. While some games are overrated and others underrated, there's a reason why this sits where it does on the overall charts.

It's not a game. It's a Visual Novel - a powerpoint presentation with click-to-see-next-slide zero-to none interactions, very childish, full of cliches story and goofy-looking honey select renders. Didn't like the childish, cliched story (young and dumb guy in school is surrounded by similarly looking teenage-girls), didn't like the art (goofy looking honey select models). There are no choices here (other than ordinary and boring "do you want to suck up to a girl to get +1 points with her"), there is too much text, no sex-scenes, and if there is a sex-scene there are no options what you can do, you just watch the short scene, and that's it. There are no dialogue options, whole story is childish, boring, full of tropes and cliches fantasy themed teenage gibberish. MC is a fool, tool and generic boring young guy too perfect to be true sucking up to all girls just to get relation points. All girls are the same, boring and stupid, and the whole story - if you could call that a story - it's just generic, click to see next slide full of stupid text, to see goofy looking girl and after 3 hours of clicking and reading stupid, gibberish, full of cliches dialogue you will get a two-slides of goofy looking sex action... this supposed to be a work of art for adults - where are my choices to "f*ck her in the ass", "f*ck her throat", "c*m on her face" or "c*m inside"? I'm getting really tired of this childish games with childish story aimed at young boys aged 12+, that think all this childish nonsence is so hot....

Once In A Lifetime was superb, but Eternum is on another level. That said, I'm maybe halfway through 0.5's content, and for the past few hours (12... holy shit), I have quite honestly been blown away by the increasing production value.

Seriously, after 0.4 or so, the production value of this game has absolutely skyrocketed. OiaL to Eternum was already a massive jump in quality, but Caribdis only keeps improving with every update.

The story is more involved.
The characters are just as charming.
The music choice is sublime.
The humor has the same wacky and charming quality that made me laugh out loud in OiaL.
The "graphics" are much better.
And now there are animations for more than just the sex scenes. I genuinely question whether this is still made in HS2 or if Caribdis went and got a whole studio involved.

Overall, if Once In A Lifetime was a solid 10 out of 10, Eternum is a 12.

God damn, am I going to be devastated when I reach the end of 0.6 and have to wait for more.

While it may require some attention to detail, the effort put into the artwork is evident. The visuals manage to create an immersive and enjoyable gaming experience, and they complement the story nicely.
Gameplay: In terms of gameplay, "Superpower Odyssey" adheres to the typical visual novel format, offering a comfortable and familiar experience. While it doesn't break new ground, it doesn't need to. It provides a reliable and enjoyable gaming experience, particularly for fans of the genre. If you have some free time on your hands, I highly recommend giving this game a try. It's a delightful journey that offers a balance of story and character interactions that are sure to captivate players.

Eternum is an excellent virtual novel, adventure, ero-game. The game has a compelling through narrative with multiple, well written erotic happenstances. The character art is excellent, using a style that gets around the uncanny valley while providing a healthy amount of realism(?). It follows a very vanilla harem style, but I think that is a good thing and if it remains that way, will likely be the best of its kind.

My sweet lord! I just finished 0.6 and I'm completely in AWE! How? I mean, listen guys, I have been playing these for 7 years now, and I have a pretty competitive sheet where I'm ranking my favorite VNs. It has become so crowded there that when a new update gets a rank bump of 1 or 2 places to a game, it means it has been extremely good! So, I had Eternum ranked sixth before this update, which is ALREADY a very high rank, and with a perfect 10/10 evaluation. Now... It simply jumped to the first place. Not even considerate for the big names already living up there. So uncivilized. Yet, so deserved I couldn't do differently. I enjoyed this SO MUCH! It has been a wild ride, and gave me so much emotion... I still need to process this. Crazy. You can't go wrong with this game.

Eternum lives in my head rent free, and it's not fair. Caribdis, how did you manage to do this to so many of us?

My potato monkey brain is incapable of finding anything I'd even care to classify as a flaw. 5/5 will dread waiting for the next patch again.

One of the absolute best games out there, especially in terms of art and story it is a cut or three (dozen) above the rest. But the sheer size and complexity of the universe here is what really leaves me in pure awe whenever I'm lucky enough to see a new update here. Not to mention I can't imagine not falling in literal love with at least one of these girls.

Masterpiece of a game. The art, the story, the sex scenes. Everything is just so good. Highly recommended, you'll definitely get turned on during the sex scenes, even if you have to work for the scenes you want. The story just gets deeper and more interesting as the dialogue goes, you're kept wanting more as if you're on a cliff hanger of a series. The dialogue can feel long and annoying, but damn is it worth it. Its fucking funny, its interesting, it just draws you in and makes you love the characters more. The music, they weren't kidding about the music, definitely keep it on while playing. The music just made the game this much better, especially during some specific scenes. I think I'm in love. Gotta thank Caribdis for that.

Strongest contender for my favourite VN out of every one I've tried so far. There are some "scary" parts which I personally don't do well with, but it's far up there in my list sitting comfortably in the top 2.
The story is captivating, the renders and moving shots are stunning and unique as far as I know, and the main ladies are all gorgeous and lovely in their own ways, both in terms of their looks and their personalities.
That last scene with Alexandra at the end of v0.6 is absolutely my favourite so far and I cannot wait to see everything else that comes with the story!

Absolutely wonderful game. I previously avoided Eternum like the plague, I just couldn't get past the intro but it was so worth it. Absolutely phenomenal story and the characters actually all feel different and all have their own motivations. The sex scenes are really well animated with excellent use of sound effects. The humour is also good. I have laughed more during this game than in any movie i have ever seen, but it is never overbearing.

This game has it all. Excellent characters, spectacular renders, well thought out dialogues that drives home how believable the characters are.

It's expertly weaved together with mystery that has excellent pacing, slowly growing as the game progresses. There isn't much to say in regards to what's already been said. Heavily recommend it.

i know the Eternum fanboys will hate this review but I will be completly honest and explain my low rating.

Eternum is an very nicely written VN with nice dialogs, interesting story, very good renders, nice animations and realistic character traits. It's done very nicely and already has many hours of playtime.

But... it does not feel like an actual ADULT visual novel. It has some few very hot sexy scenes and so far I saw one short actual pussy action animation but compared to the previous game "once in a lifetime" the dev shifted his focus way to much away from the adult content.

As a VN this game is surely 4 or even 5 out of 5, but as an Adult VN on a adult game forum I must rate it 2 out of 5.
It feels like the dev is trying to overly extend and bait you to more and more...

If you are looking for an adult game with frequent adult/sexy-time aka porn, then this game is not for you. You can check out the previous game though, which I, to this date, rate as one of the best AVN I have ever played.

How can this game be so good ? Fuck the sex scenes I'm enjoying the story so much it's amazing and the person who made the game's sound desing is a genius and needs a raise, the story is so well written I can't stop playing this game is something for sure and it shouldn't be just a game to be honest, if they made a manga or a book with it I would read it for sure

Definitely the best AVN I've ever played.
A great story that isn't boring and had me engrossed from the start. The overall theme and idea of the whole game is extremely fun and I find it very interesting and brilliant. The characters are very well written, they are beautifully different from each other but at the same time complement each other perfectly. The choice of music is perfectly satisfactory for me and I even added some songs to my playlist. The game has a lot of funny moments where I actually laughed, which doesn't happen often. Plus it also has a few scary moments where I was scared of what would happen next. The game also has a few references to other games, which I can appreciate. The quality of renders is very good, and I feel like they get better with each episode. The same goes for the animations, which are well done and even come with sound, which is not exactly common for AVN.
Even the wait time between episodes is not extremely long.
I appreciate that the developer is asking practically nothing for this game and releasing it completely free to the public.
I will definitely support developer in his work.

I must commence with a simple opinion: This game is one of the very best of its kind, and absolutely worth your time- if all you desired was a simple nod forwards, then this is that nod. If you desired more words..

Then words I will have to provide, because while I've never posted before and hells, not even had an account for that long- I'm no stranger to AVN's nor NSFW Games in general; and this, is the very best I've played thus far.
While I can't speak for the world, I'd have choice words if Eternum wasn't at least in the top 10, preferably top 3.

Let's begin with what many desire in this sort of game: Something engaging, interesting and of course appealing in a variety of senses. The game opens with a choice that has a good effect in setting the pace of choice making going forward: Options can, and likewise can forego, being obvious. This is followed by an incredibly refreshing introduction, equal parts humour and story telling. Believe and trust Annie when she says to keep SFX and Music on, it's absolutely worth it.

In this, simple introduction Eternum ticks off every single desireable box; excellently made and appealing models, interesting characters behind each one and engaging story that fits you into the shoes of our protagonist as he, just as we, take our first steps into a very deep rabbit hole.
With that said, I'll end with a small content warning for what, by my standards is some light-medium horror, optional in some cases, tied with the story in others.

This is as far as this review will take itself completely seriously, if I haven't convinced you until now, then all I can do is ask that you trust this random internet stranger, and at least give the first chapter a shot- because believe it or not, it only gets better from there.

From this point forward, I condemn etiquette and just say what comes to mind. Spoilers included.

As one of the coldest bastards on this planet, I thank you for what you've made, and am happy to say that I'll be waiting for whenever the next release comes along; no pressure, no asks- You know what you're doing, proven as such, so I won't be arrogant enough to presume I'd know better.

I need to make this review because I feel this is one of the best games around, honestly.

The story hooked me from the first moment, because although it sins of some tropes, Caribdis knows how to successfully combine comedy, tragedy and characterization in just the right measure.

It is also worth saying that some of the sex scenes are a bit shoehorned in, but it's forgivable.
Some characters are better characterized than others, that's true, but none lack charm for some people.

Certainly, it's a game I would recommend to everyone!
