I thought he indicated that he took his gear off before going to sleep, before the murder mystery, and then it didn't get addressed again. I think it was deliberately left ambiguous, but he seems to be jumping in without the gear when he is needed, possibly.
In the murder mystery he wasn't sure, but assumes that he had to have fallen asleep with it on. In his conversation with Calypso later, she mentions that he appeared for a second and questions whether he could have left his gear on again, but he cocludes that he definitely wasn't wearing the gear that time, so he asumes that Calypso was just mistaken. I think at this point, the MC isn't actively aware that he's somehow connecting to the game while not wearing his equipment.
Oh, there's EVERY indication that MC didn't wear his visor ...

While we don't actually see him fall asleep, there's no indication he puts on his visor before doing so. On top of that , this event falls right in line with his constant assertion that he never remembers his dreams ...

My recollection was just in the text around him going to sleep - not a statement he made to someone - and I do recall his supposing that maybe he left it on.

Damn ... I THINK I do? Her beating Penny and MC to the meeting place, right?, but since I already addressed it (before you did I might add) I don't feel the need to pay up :p

If it's something related to the show, I only got through the first three episodes. I LOVED it, but I needed a break after THAT moment before diving back in, and I just never got around to it. (I don't watch as much as I used to).

....

That is some serious foreshadowing to how intense Alex could be...
I mean, you're not wrong, but it's also giving definition to how she's been acting all along. I can't WAIT to see her reaction to whatever happens in the early moments of 0.7 though.

Except we don't even know if its an actual child, we don't know if every NPC is like Thanatos and is an actual person turned into an NPC. The MC admits this.

If the child NPC truly is simply lines of code then I don't see anything wrong with doing whatever you want to it. Because then it's not an actual person, it's just an object.

More to the point, is that the other playing was saying all the common arguments people make in favor of taboo erotic fiction. "It's not real", "I wouldn't do this in real life", "It's just lines of code". The Developer is throwing stones in a glass house if he's implying that those arguments hold no merit.
I think that with that scene, Caribdis has likely made his opinion known on that issue.

We saw what "they're only lines of code" led to in Westworld....

"Let's save this guy from getting excommunicated" clearly wasn't what that the Dev was going for. As for legality, there are several games on this site that very clearly depict characters that are underage in sexual situations, disclaimers be damned. Really, legality isn't the question here, it's the fact that there isn't anything morally wrong with doing anything to any fictional character.
There are many things I will not do in-game, not because of the fictional characters, but because I do not want to do them. To do so would probably have a detrimental effect on my own psyche.

Also, I expect that one reason why "digital/cartoon CP" is illegal in most jurisdictions is that such material could easily be used as an aid to the grooming of real kids.

Dr Pepper is my go to, but I've kind of been having nostalgia about high school when I worked at Taco Hell and would get a 32oz "Pepper-Dew" at the beginning of shift. Something about post-mix soda, properly brixed, at that perfect 42F, and the right mix of caramelly mellow Dr Pepper, and the sweet jet fuel that is Mountain Dew. Gonna have to catch you again so I can get my mix on. ;)

Loli porn is actually legal in most countriesthat allows porn, including America.

I'm not making you or the Dev do anything, all I'm saying is that virtue signaling is a dumb move, especially if you make porn.

It isn't "virtue signalling" to show folks where you draw the line. Not all porn is equal.

The mods have been made aware of this long drawn out defense of digital pedophilia and, with any luck, this entire line of defending the indefensible will be erased from our sight. Even if it isn't, you are being erased from my sight, and I suggest anyone else that's tired of this do the same. Take away a troll's audience, and the troll eventually leaves.

The mods are aware of how right the arguments are, and that's why pre-pubescent loli porn is allowed on this site. It's only some obscure laws that MIGHT be applicable if a lawyer forced it enough that prevents them from just flat out allowing all of it without the "Age must not be mentioned" clause.

Morally there is nothing wrong with it, legally it's obscure and almost never enforced. Heck, you can buy loli porn merch of explicitly stated pre-pubescent characters like the Prillya girls off of Amazon.

It really says a lot that you have to resort to calling those who disagree with you "trolls" when they're just having a sincere discussion with you.

Then I present to you what would have been my go-to Taco Bell drink if it had been offered:

...Are you legitimately equating the crimes of the pedo in-game to what is essentially liking loli porn?

Because Honey Select 2 anime-esque art style aside, the entire selling point of Eternum (the in-game VR game, not this VN) is "more real life than real life," so the NPC kid is essentially something that absolutely looks like a real kid in the Caribdiverse.

And unlike loli porn where you can make the argument that some people (emphasis on the some...because I'm pretty sure there's a subset of monsters who hide under the loli art shield that are into characters that are literal kids in their respective anime universes) are drawn to the art style and the "gap moe" (like the age old case of liking an older character than acts like an older character but looks like a kid), it's hard to defend someone who essentially lusts for something that talks like a kid, acts like a kid, and - in their universe - absolutely looks like a real kid.
