Imagine accusing the dev of milking when he himself had repeatedly stated in his Progress Reports and on Discord that the longer dev times are for making sure the quality of the game is better and that if he didn't give a shit about it he would just release the game on a faster sched but the renders would be 0.1 level (where the quality ranged from awesome to "...eh, it's passable").Increasing time between releases gets the dev more money. People first accept that 8 months is normal, then it's 1 year, then it's more than 1 year. We've seen this progression before, e.g. with BaDIK.

And that's not to mention the unforeseen issues he encountered while working on the game.

So no, deliberately making things better does not equate to milking, no matter how well you spin it.
