hahahaha "maximum of dramaqueen wording" is perfect description :D
when you try to create a satire making it sound satirical is kind of a point. But yeah, point still stands narratively speaking you cant be on dalias path unless you sucker punch someone which is kinda dumb. Pointing that out is nothing more than observation anyone can make. You do not punch the guy to protect her or in self defence, you literally do it to be a dick and then double down on being a dick by using it as manipulative loophole. I never said this path given is bad, i am saying it feels very bad that its only path you have with dalia
canonically Orion punches Axel the first time they met for trying things on Annie, no questions, straight from the punch.

Him being an impulsive mf is a canon character trait of him, especially when said person in question is a jealous asshole, totally deserved punch.

Well said.

However, unfortunately, we're dealing with AVN writers catering to (certainly here) anime pop-culture fanboys who honestly, don't have a clue. Just have to accept it and move on. I've only ever seen one VN do a D/s type relationship half-realistically....it's nearly all alpha male fantasy fullfillment catering to specific demographic.
"Well said"

and it's the worst character reading I've ever seen.

played it now, damn this update was amazing felt like in a cinema, top tier! but am I the only one who is disappointed with the dalia scene? I mean she talked always how tough she is, can take it way harder than penny but than even the gentle annie took it harder. (and in the last scene i see more orion ass than her haha)
felt like that alex scene was the best again,i dont know its my opinion but somehow it feels like that nancy and dalia going in the background (just with the scene)

not sure how we got here though. yes orion being cocky and aggresive is canon. that is what got him shot in 0.7, he was purposefully written to be arrogant and asshole to everyone and by 0.7 those traits were spreading to him being dick and possesive of girls and universe said "ok enough is enough". that is why in 0.8 he tries to change and focuse on whats important to him and how suddenly he has fears and is more humble and selfaware

For the patrons, does Cari make a feedback post or something for the updates? Seeing so many with divided opinions but wonder if he even hears them

I originally posted this in the Eternum subreddit, but they have a dumb rule where you're not allowed to talk about spoilers, even if it's spoiler tagged and hidden, so I'll post it here.

It is Harem-Logic, so I think we just need to accept as it is. Once you try to question it - as you eloquently do - you just see the holes and how it simply would never work. I guess suspense of disbelieving is the only way to enjoy the story.

He is writing himself in way too many corners that are just not possible to resolve otherwise, so I just go along with it.

Well I've been beginning to think that the "Gems of Doom" are more than just the namesake. Idriel has hinted at her collective had been watching Orion with interest because of his peculiar powers and ability to do things that go against what they expected. My guess is they are focused on nihilism and predict the end of the "world", or maybe all worlds when all 10 gems of doom are collected, and believe this is a fated event. However, they noticed that Orion is capable of making choices and actions going outside their predicted results (the coin which is constantly brought up), and Idriel commenting that no matter how many times Orion has reached death's door he has defied fate's intention each time.

Whether the behaviour is arrogance or carelessness, internal consistency is not Caribdis's strength as a writer. He's an excellent writers of "situations" and leans into that, which is why Eternum feels like a sitcom. This leads to a lot of inconsistencies in the narrative so he can get the most bang out of the scenarios he dreams up.

As such, I wouldn't put too much stock into Orion's motivations for behaving so riskily. Caribdis serves the scenario, not the plausibility.

Obviously, I would like him to have both, but honestly, Eternum is best played without thinking too much. It's wonderful in so many ways, but there is no doubt that it is best to play with the brain switched firmly off.
As a writer I rate Ciribdis very highly, compared to most mediocre AVNs, I would award him second place among all.

Lmao, yeah of course its waaaay more realistic for two inexperienced people like orion and penny to immediately start out in a full blown d/s dynamic instead of some casual fun domination games

And every girl who says break me during sex wants to be a 24/7 slave, sure sure

yeez talk about being entitled or carrying a strange sense of elitism around

I agree, but why would I want to think too much on a game/story with a sci-fi/fantasy setting? This is a common mistake people that try to enjoy those genres faces, those genres are best enjoyed with "suspension of disbelief" or else we will always overthink about the motivations and events. What those genres usually bring to the table are unprobable and impossible scenarios that the only thinking we should do is about the repercussions if those scenarios really existed.
We just have to enjoy the ride, people take sci-fi and fantasy and almost any fiction genre too seriously imho . With that said I really love sci-fi and fantasy stories (if mixed with good humor like Eternum even better) as you probably can guess from my favorite AVNs list, and this is one of the best for sure.

He usually interacts with most Patrons in a dedicated spoiler channel on his Discord whenever there's a new update (it unlocks for a specific sub tier once the update is unlocked for them). Highly doubt he takes feedback from this site tho, given his personal opinions about it. /shrugs

It's going to rely on a person's taste.

I agree Caribdis writes near perfectly when it comes to technical elements like grammar, and word choice (astonishing for a non-native speaker), but overall, his writing is great because it is week-day sitcom level-of-professionalism in a sea of dog shit that would struggle to outgrade my middle school creative writing assignments.

That sounds like I'm knocking him, but I am not. Eternum is better than at least 7/10 of each new season of anime, it's better written than at least half of the American TV industry's output in the last five years.

However, there is no denying that he skips over important events (

), and has trouble with what events he chooses to dramatise. Constantly on the lookout for a laugh, he often misses the low hanging fruit to have the reader feel more strongly about his characters.

I am making a few assumptions there. He might just disagree with me on what the most important element there is to focus on, and that's fine. I'd rather have the funny, and the drama, but it is what it is.

However, the point of the post you're quoting was to point out that Caribdis introduces easily a dozen plot holes in each update. He's obviously made the decision that "this is too cool to worry about it making this other thing incorrect," but internal consistency (or lack thereof) is a metric you can judge a writer on. I just pointed out how I turn off my critical brain reading Eternum because it makes the experience of reading it much-much more fun.

EDIT: And honestly, sometimes its sheer stupidity is what makes it so fucking hilarious; so I don't think I'd want it any different.
