It's just a later release version with a few fixes and no, that scene obviously wasn't removed and it is actually pretty good. If you find it annoying, just skip through it.0.8.4? What's with the .4 at the end? That wasn't there the last time I looked. Someone please tell me they deleted the office scene? That's such a major black eye on an otherwise amazing game.
Pretty what? I couldn't disagree more. While Eternum overall is one of the best VNs out there, the office scene is one of the worst parts I've seen across all VNs. And I am a Stanley Parable fan...but that scene is the total opposite of Stanley Parable that looks like it was made by someone who didn't understand what made the Stanley Parable good. Horrid narrator, bad story for the part, etc. The sad part is that is was probably the most expensive part of the game too since they probably paid for the voice acting, even though is was bad, so at this point it's probably sunk cost fallacy where it was too expensive to throw away even though it makes the game worse. It's just a later release version with a few fixes and no, that scene obviously wasn't removed and it is actually pretty good. We already have high level answers to all of those except Orion's nature though, and the details don't feel all that impactful. It's like the difference between knowing about Zion in The Matrix, and seeing Zion. Did seeing Zion really feel expansive?I feel like not knowing all the details is an important caveat. Did we get some answers about these? Yes. We're missing enough of the details that it hardly feels like a shortage of mystery.
- We still don't know exactly what Eternum is, or the purpose of the gems (I have my suspicions, based on the battle scene from Calypso's story, which may be confirmed in the next update).
- We don't know who the Founder is (or did I miss that somehow?) or what he wants.
- The mystery of why Thanatos is still around in Eternum is as big, if not more so, than who he is. Who he is turned out to be relatively unimportant.
- We haven't solved the mystery of Orion's powers, other than that they're probably related to him being 100% compatible. The underlying mystery of why does he have 100% compatibility remains unanswered. (I know you said this one wasn't solved)
- Same with Idriel and the Immortals.
This is one little unfortunate thing about all of Caribdis' works in principle. It's ALWAYS been there. I love his central messages of "Don't be a scumbag" and "Don't be a pussy".Add to that some of the NRT undertone and I can understand that a lot of people don't like it...
Nothing you've said is close to an answer to anything. Those aren't even high level answers. It would be difficult to be more vague. We already have high level answers to all of those except Orion's nature though, and the details don't feel all that impactful. Eternum is just there, the way our universe is. What is the purpose of our universe? What is the purpose of our solar systems? The Founder is just some dude with really high compatibility who saw a way to profit. We already know Thanatos is one of many who have been transplanted permanently into Eternum, and he has Hyas. Idriel is a slave of the Founder, and the Immortals are oppressors.
I don't see you how you can say there is an emphasis on "or else other men are gonna fuck your girl" because that doesn't happen and isn't implied. You can reject or fuck up with every one of them and it does not happen. You have zero competition. Who do you think is competition? Chang? He would never (and he has Micaela). Jerry? Not a chance. Axel? ha!. The other male side characters are either uninterested, inconsequential, or scumbags whom the girls would not consider in a million years. This is one little unfortunate thing about all of Caribdis' works in principle. It's ALWAYS been there. I love his central messages of "Don't be a scumbag" and "Don't be a pussy".
However...
There's just a wee bit too much emphasis in his games of "or else other men are gonna fuck your girl" that none of the other top visual novels have (BAD, Ripples). He's definitely more focused on the competition between men for women
wait, by BAD you cant possibly mean "being a DIK"? but i cant think of anything else that could be "BAD" given the context. There's just a wee bit too much epmhasis in his games of "or else other men are gonna fuck your girl" that none of the other top visual novels have (BAD, Ripples). He's definitely more focused on the competition between men for women
to play devils advocate it is kind of heavily implied during the stanley parabole dream sequence. Alex is married, penny is dating celebrity, Dalia is married to Jerry... its hard to argue that this scene does not at least imply it. (though i could see how someone could play devil advocate and argue that it doesnt happen as i would be all over that if its neededI don't see you how you can say there is an emphasis on "or else other men are gonna fuck your girl" because that doesn't happen and isn't implied.
I dont know call me a crackhead, but based on this conversation, I'd put my guess as Caly does get a scene where she has Orion *test* with a maid, but she's there and watching. At some point, she joins in in some capacity. And this is why I believe Orion won’t end up sleeping with any maid in Hyril’ar. Even if none of the girls are there to know what he’s doing—except maybe Calypso—he himself would feel guilty. I mean, he told that vendor/therapist in the Valley of Kings realm that he wants his relationship with the girls to work. So going off and hooking up with a random maid in a distant realm while all his girls are freaking out with worry over whether he’s even alive seems completely counterintuitive.
No, in 9.0 we are shooting past the damn maids and making it straight to their Princess!
I loved that scene. Never heard of Stanley Parable before but I thought the narrator was great, and it was the perfect length, some repetition, but each time there was something new. Plus DaliaPretty what? I couldn't disagree more. While Eternum overall is one of the best VNs out there, the office scene is one of the worst parts I've seen across all VNs. I think she will get a scene, not go all the way tho. Being in and escaping a genuine life and death situation will most likely make them closer and it'll develop from theredo you think it will happen in next patch or how/why do you think they will get back to her world again? also do you think calypso will stay in her world starting next update as she has no interest in eternum and this whole time all she wanted was to get back which now allegedly they did in the cliffhanger?
That's interesting, I do wonder what path Caly will go on now. She achieved her goal of reaching her home world. Will she return to Eternum to aid Orion in his quest? Will she seek revenge on the Founder? Will she just stay in her world and ignore the rest of the world now she is safe? Will she command her elven forces to fight?do you think it will happen in next patch or how/why do you think they will get back to her world again? also do you think calypso will stay in her world starting next update as she has no interest in eternum and this whole time all she wanted was to get back which now allegedly they did in the cliffhanger?
Or maybe trouble follows her home in the form of a certain no-life samurai and she is forced to flee with Orion to safer havens? That's interesting, I do wonder what path Caly will go on now. Even Orion was pissed that the scene just faded to black.Plus Dalia![]()
People have different opinions, so assuming the only reason why that whole scene wasn't promptly deleted before public release is because its a "sunk cost" is absolutely crazy. Personally, I thought the scene and the narrator were good, even if it was something new for Eternum.Pretty what? I couldn't disagree more. I actually really really liked the London office narrator scene. I felt it was original and an interesting break of pace.People have different opinions, so assuming the only reason why that whole scene wasn't promptly deleted before public release is because its a "sunk cost" is absolutely crazy. the office scene was one of the best parts of the update for real, got me really worried until I understood what was going on, it really makes you value more the things you have because you can lose them if you failPretty what?
