So how far are we into the game?

The dev is working on the 0.9 update right? Can I assume this is the second to last update then or shouldn't I trust the version numbering like 90% of the time xD

Also while 1.0 is the final update, it's not 0.9 then 1.0. Proper versioning would be 0.9 to 0.10 to 0.11 etc. until the final update which is 1.0.

Thanks for answering so we aren't that far yet as I "hoped" to be xD.

Haven't played any version of Eternum since I enjoy more playing only completed projects for several reasons. However I played Once in a Lifetime and I really enjoyed my time with it so Etermun I guess will be a no brainer.

Now that you showed me the image I have a slight deja vu xD

I guess I have asked this already at one point in the recent years and got the same response. :HideThePain:
so if everything goes according to plan, v.0.13 would be v1.0?
I would assume so for now. Time will tell.

Damn, people. I literally got hooked at the intro of the game.

Is that me ? Am I that easy to please ?
Just different aspects of the story hooked you faster. I got more into the story of the MC trying to obtain the Eternum chip, then getting into Eternum. The train ride, chatting with Chang, going to school, all that stuff was just intro and did not really catch my attention as I was trying to see past that surface. I guess I am more of an entree kind of guy rather than an appetizer type of guy.

I saw Annie in the first scene and knew I had to continue. I had heard Eternum was a GOAT AVN, so I was already interested in seeing it through, but Annie is what hooked me straight away.
I'm a sucker for the girl next door/childhood friend trope, so I fell in love at once. Then I met Luna and fell again.

I clearly have a problem with my balance, I keep falling in this game.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I am not into tattoos but I like Alex's personality and Luna is a bit of a girl next door Wednesday Adams vibe. Nova is just too nutty and cute not to like.

Is the music restoration mod recommended? I'm playing through Eternum for the first time since .5 and tempted to see what the new music is like.

no matter how many of my fellow Eternum fan, loved Cari first game, I don't like it, and I dropped it.
:coffee:
Each of us has our own tastes and you can't argue with that. It's another matter when you try one game and you don't like it, you share your opinion about what you don't like and leave here.

But when you say that you played the same game a couple of times and you don't like it and then you dictate your dissatisfaction to everyone, like why is it higher in the rating? It's just a little envy and nothing more...
there were such people and not only in Eternum, they exist in some topics. As say, let's move on!

...Guess I'm one of the few who thought 0.8 was the best update since 0.5. Loved the New World arc feeling like a proper adventure, was giggling at the Stanley Parable section, almost went to heaven with all the Annie stuff that happened, and loved the action packed stuff that happened in the Valley of Kings and final section of the update (not to mention the "action" we got with Alex and Dalia).

The only critique I probably have is that the 0.7 cliffhanger was resolved a tad quicker in the beginning of the update than I hoped. But then again I should have expected it given that this is set in the same universe where a drug lord moonlighting as a tour guide conveniently offered quick body disposal to some guys who got a cult leader killed, no questions asked.
I'm on the same boat as you, I didn't feel the update was lacking story-wise at all.

The endings are always good but the cliffhangers are always just drama bait.
It resolved about how I expected.

As someone mentioned the Stanley Parable part only works if you played it (which I didn't) otherwise its tedious and kind of annoying.

0.5 is probably one of the best updates, very well rounded. 0.6 probably has my favorite intro, especially if you play the last scene 0f 0.5 and transition into 0.6. Makes the Jerry narration much better.:ROFLMAO:
I knew of the Stanley Parable, but have never played it, and still enjoyed that part immensely. We each have our own tastes I guess ;)

He had to take a lot of songs out of the game due to legal reasons. That is the main (only?) change with 0.8.6.

So if you have 0.8.5. it is basically recommended to play that version and keep it, since that has all the music still in it. It is not "new" music in the sense that there is more of it, it is just a substitute for what was there before.

Then again: Never hearing the original music might be a good idea, that way you don't know, what you're missing in future versions. :HideThePain:
