Sure, but defending against what? You can defend against false facts and you can argue interpretations, but you can't defend againat opinion. You can disagree with it, but not defend against it. Nor is shouting down or denying them constructive to future iterations. That's especially the case for game like this that really is a top game, and people are secure in that, so really there's little to defend in the first place. I just think that people should be open to constructive critique that is well meant, in all games not just this oneAs someone who truly believes this is the "most bestest, excelentest game ever", I think it's a good thing to discuss the flaws as well, in a constructive way, so that this game and future games can be even better!
At the same time, I feel like it's okay for people to want to defend something that is so important to them as long as we aren't being toxic by saying all criticisms are meaningless.
And I think that's exactly what makes Eternum unlike other games on this site.
Not Just a Porn Game
It's not just a porn game, it's a very wholesome and sweet slow-burn romance with multiple beautifully rendered, unique and lovable characters with diverse, different personalities, and the characters they feel like they are real people, just like any anime or other media form. It takes the fantasy of a harem romance and it elevates it to this higher level of art, all with visual and aesthetic beauty and wholesome/sweet/romantic slice of life vibes. It feels more like a western anime/manga with fanservice.
Not Just Romance
But it's not just romance, it also has slice of life, worldbuilding, lore, a conventional blockbuster story with mini-stories (inspired by Witcher 3, Avengers, Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, Ready Player One, Doki Doki Literature Club, Horror, and so on), and also adventure elements, and it has the freedom to explore this diversity using the servers/main setup of the game. The gameplay is extremely simple but the core idea of a corporation with this MMORPG allow for a very complex and diverse story with a lot of variety.
For these reasons, I seriously doubt any game will be able to top Eternum in the future, but I will keep an open mind.
Are you saying that, after the spanking, we'll move on to oral?*Oh yes, even though... Words aren't the first things we, as worshipper of the Goddess, will have with them...
After the "treatment" well, yes, we could use some words of love too.... To encourage them following the righteous path of course, nothing else...![]()

Another example of such a game is mbmlCan't agree more. If I were to compare the structure of Eternum to other games we can find in this platform, this would be one of those "Story-driven games that just happened to have porn on them". We get way more story than sex scenes per update, and the interaction between characters feels "organic" for lack of a better word. We are actually establishing relationships instead of the common "Girl sees man with big dick, girl suddenly wants to fuck and is suddenly head over heels for the MC for some reason". (Of course, one could argue that this is almost similar to the case with Nancy, but that's not really it since we worked out a relationship first, and did a bit of exploring on the consequences of doing it, mainly on Nancy's side.)
If anyone reading this wants to see an example of what I'm talking about, check out Grandma's house, specifically the MC's interaction with the Massage lady and the receptionist of that spa
EDIT: thinking about it now, I don't think Nancy's totally in love with the MC yet . Her dynamic with the MC feels way more like she wants to re-explore her youth than actually being in love, other wise she wouldn't ask Orion if he'd like to bang her daughters if given the chance
It's linear in a sense that there is only one major story path and that the only "branching" there is at the moment either doesn't affect the plot in a major way (see: Space Station choice in who to help) or grey out a love interest's path and consequently make players miss out on story moments that could've happened during said love interest's event. Of course that could change as we get close to the final act, where the little choices we've made in the course of the story as players will likely affect the ending we get (as in the case of OIAL).I don't know if this game can be considered a linear visual novel, there were so many choices I had to try out and I missed so many small details. It's amazing how the dev can pay close attention to the smallest of details such as a change of few words in some of the dialogues.
It is indeed linear. If we were to draw it's entire plot, it follows a straight line, with minor branching parts here and there. None of your choices alters the story and its world in a significant way, apart from closing off romance paths to some characters which causes you to miss some scenes.I don't know if this game can be considered a linear visual novel, there were so many choices I had to try out and I missed so many small details. what does mbml stand for if I may ask?Another example of such a game is mbml
Sometimes I feel nii chan and carbdis are brothers
Both mention about each other's game as Easter eggs
My Bully is My Loverwhat does mbml stand for if I may ask?
Weeeell, not exactly since the first approach to such miscreants is generally the use of the sacred pan on their heads but...Are you saying that, after the spanking, we'll move on to oral?*
*I know that isn't the actual quote, but thought it fit better.![]()

Compare that to, say, The Witcher 2 where the choices you make right at the start could potentially put you in wildly different paths and scenarios that are unique in their own right. This allows the game to be replay-friendly, but for a porn game with episodic content this could lead to longer dev times due to the branching paths thing or lead to updates that have - objectively - a lot of content but the kind that most players will not see if they're only invested in one path/playthrough (see: BADIK).
I agree, there is one major story and whatever choices you make doesn't change where the story goes but just affects which girl you end up with so I agree that in that sense it's linear. It is indeed linear. This is the key part on what separates an AVN from a "porn game" for me. I know that to a lot of people an AVN is a porn game by definition and they use those terms interchangeably, but I don't. For me, a "porn game" is a game that is focused solely on the sexual content and whose story and characters (such as they are) are just ancillary to that goal. In other words, if you were to remove all the lewd content from such a game, you would be left with an empty husk that has nothing to hold your attention. Can't agree more. I want to believe she lied because she is a mole.Me: ...So she's been side-hustling since she was 8? Talk about being dedicated...
I haven't replayed the beginning, but "announcing" and "releasing" a game are two different things. I mean...she still would be like 11 or 12 even if it would've taken them 3 or 4 years between announcing and releasing Eternum./Replays the game for the nth time

Agreed also the neural implant cost 2500 US dollars, I don't know how much you can make with side gigs and other works, but she surely needed time to gather all that money to buy it.I haven't replayed the beginning, but "announcing" and "releasing" a game are two different things.
