I mean, one is him telling a girl that he loves her while she has his spunk in her face, and the other is prior to them doing the deed. So not exactly the same, really. :Kappa:

Tho realtalk, I like that Orion basically told the words straight instead of going for some poetic prose or shit. Like he told Dalia, he went through getting shot in an alleyway for him to realize that life is too short for him to have second thoughts, so might as well say the important things out loud now.
I know, I was just taking a piss out of it because it is funny that he said the exact same words to both. And straight to the point seems like the better option.

The crackpot theory being that the boxes floating in the login cinematic could be similar to the prison that Calypso is kept. And since the Lady in Black mentioned in 0.2 that the dead go back "to the same box," then the boxes in the login cinematic are actually floating prison-coffins, and where every dead person who are not being used by Ulysses as NPCs are kept.

Edit: Also to add: the login cinematic that we have now wasn't the original login cinematic back in 0.1 to 0.4. Originally it was a stock footage of Stargate's wormhole cinematic. Cari eventually changed it in 0.5, which got me thinking since he also made changes with Linus' NPC scrambler where it used to be a disc but then replaced it with a miniaturized model of Caly's prison.
Oh, that´s some interesting association. I didn´t even noticed that the login changed, so much so that I don´t know what the login is now, if there is any. I really liked the wormhole, but to me those squares/cubes were just there for effect, you actually managed to come up with some meaning for them.
So the dead NPCs not being used are stored in those boxes, is that your guess? Could be. So everyone playing Eternum will be in those boxes when they die in real life, unless they´re used as an NPC. I wonder how they select people to be NPCs or not. Status? Money donated? Physical traits?

Well, players who die in real life and people who died after the closure of the Gates of Acheron, yes (which I believe is the reason why the dead are currently trapped in Eternum in the first place, as my current theory is that Eternum is some sort of Astral Plane where dreamers wander and those who have passed from the realms of the living go through to reach their respective afterlives beyond the gates. As to WHY they are closed...well, jury's still out on that one but I have a hunch that it has something to do with the untold continuation of Caly's tale and the reason why Idriel is chained in Limbo).

Is it just me?

every time it says "A while later" it sounds like the narrator from Sponge Bob Squarepants.

Now I need to remember what the Gates of Acheron are.
So your theory is that a videogame actually became a highway to the afterlife? That´s pretty trippy.
Not saying you´re wrong, obviously, but a videogame turning out to be all this seems to surreal to me.

The person clearly wants more ass bouncing from Dalia. What we got wasn´t enough.

this was fun as a story until the 3 stooges talked so long in front of a weapon they wanted to get they where caught and Orion had to rush away from the nude women, like who does that.

Wut? Thought it's established from current evidence that Eternum isn't a videogame to begin with ((Andromeda Tapes revealing that the creators of Alien had an out-of-body experience that led them to Eternum - specifically the Andromeda "server" - where they then encountered Xenomorphs, the mysterious dude at the Ulysses party mocking Orion for thinking Eternum was a "videogame," Axel saying that Eternum isn't a "game" due to the tech required to run it being non-existent based on his investigation, William revealing that the Founder discovered Eternum and created the implant so that normies are able to project themselves there without having to rely on the typical methods to induce an out-of-body experience (dreaming, meditation, hallucinogenic substances, having a near-death experience) while also masking the entire process as if they're logging into a VRMMO, that entire thing about Immortals being able to jump in and out of Eternum even with their physical bodies hence Caly thinking that Orion was one)), but rather a sort of astral realm where dreamers wander and where the spirits of the dead could be seen, as per current definitions...

The idea also has ties to Greek Mythology, where it is believed that the dream world could be found in the underworld.

And given Cari's knack for referencing Greek Myths throughout the game (i.e. Orion's character mirroring elements of his mythological counterpart, the whole Greek Myth naming scheme throughout the game like Ulysses and Thanatos and Penelope), it wouldn't surprise me if this is him drawing inspiration from the matter.

Nobody's told us if there are literally gates or if it's allegory.
IIRC 0.1 the mysterious caller at the telephone booth described them as "gates," but was then changed at some point to just "doors" (along with the added mention of "breaking the chains," which heavily implies that the caller could be Idriel or one of the Syndicate). The idea kinda stuck tho, hence why I'm referring to them as "gates."

I got a crc mismatch while extracting and game is crashing on launch. I'll post full traceback if needed.
While running game code:
File "renpy/common/00start.rpy", line 288, in script
python:
ScriptError: could not find label 'start'.
