Support real artists. It has no soul. Its always an ugly ass art style. You can instantly tell AI "art" from something a real artist has made. Theres no such thing as using ai well. If you cant create the art yourself, get a real person who can. Not a plagiarization machine thats killing the planet for literally no good reason what so ever. Its lazy, and stupid. Carbdis can afford real art made from real people. Fuck AI. Fuck AI art.

I mean it was a bunch of volunteer members on Cari's Discord that essentially helped him replace a significant chunk of his music with AI music after the music distributor sent him a CnD early last year (and this was after they changed ToS to prevent the usage of their music for "porn" which included AVNs, music that Cari himself rightfully purchased but couldn't do anything about coz of ToS changes), so he likely felt he owed them for it and thus commissioned some of the AI tracks used in the new update from them (I say some coz I feel like there are tracks used in this update that sound like standard Royalty Free stuff, likely from the one music distributor Cari used for some bought tracks that survived the music purge).

Not sure what's up with the AI art during the painting section tho and I haven't seen any comments about it on his Discord. Might take a peek on the matter when the spoilers channel opens to the public later this month, as I don't have access to that currently.

Do you guys remember the morgue scene? Where Orions wakes up next to corpse, and there was board with information about organ failure and the like, before the corpse gets up. I was replaying the last update and saw this:

What do you think are the chances that this is something that has happened in one of the previous iterations / timelines? Part of me thinks that this is foreshadowing for the the end of 0.10 with the dev doing something similar before. Such the whole "comment from Idrie to not be cocky before Orion was shot" or "the search for the elf realm just before he ended up there".

Updated my compressed Android port of Eternum with LightmanP's multimod to v0.8.0.

Got some basic gestures loaded in: swipe up for save menu, swipe down to hide UI, swipe left to rollback and swipe right to skip. Save files are now stored in the Documents folder. This sometimes means that you may need to close and re-open the port after installing so the save folder is properly created.

I have created 2 versions, one heavily compressed and one with less compression. The lesser compression is larger than 2Gb so there are additional steps to install it.

Compressed APK Install instructions:

1. Download compressed apk file
2. Install apk file
3. Play the game

Less Compressed Zip Install instructions:

1. Download zip file
2. Use an app like RAR to unzip the file. Standard browsers have issues with large zip files
3. Install the apk file from the zip file
4. Run the game once to load into the menu and then close the game. This will allow the port to set up the required folder in your Documents folder
5. Move the archive.rpa file from the zip file to Documents/Eonor/e.eternum/game
6. Restart the game

If you do not read the instructions and ask for help because the install doesn't work, you will be laughed at and told to read the instructions.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the port and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.

I bet money on he's an artist of no particularly great skill and AI will put him out of business. That's what 99.9% of bitching about AI boils down to. Same thing happens every time there's a large technological advancement. Miners and workers bitched during industrial revolution, scribes bitched after the invention of printing press etc etc. That's all.

Care to explain what was wrong with ai art? where it was used? character designs, backgrounds or what? I am busy in life. Haven't got the time to play latest update yet but I have it downloaded. And in my opinion if human and ai art combined or edited can be good if produced well. I also hate ai art if its badly created. Judging from Caribdis previous exceptional work, Even if he used ai, he may have used it very well.

I mean the images are very clearly AI created. And even after listening to the music, it also comes across as very obviously machine generated.

AI songs,unlike the real ones,guarantee that case with tracks won't happen again,even if they sound a bit worse,they are still not awful.

I could understand this more from an AVN developer that was less known, and didn't have the patreon/subscribestar or whatever financial backing to afford the odd commission for in game art, but Carbdis is definitely not one of those developers, and could easily afford to pay for a couple of commissions for the art used in game, or even the licensing fees for certain images. I dunno, might get flack for it, but it just felt like a letdown from a Developer who usually focuses so much time and effort into making something actually quality in the space. Otherwise this update was amazing, like the rest of them. Just had to say something about the AI art, as I noticed it right away and it took a bit out of the update for me. Fuck AI "art."

Not every artist wants to make art for a "porn" game,because they want to add something to their portfolios. And personally, I don't feel like he actually needs commissioned works just for a few renders you will forget about in a day,besides,they looked fine.

Did Doc also had a week or two to comply with the CnD and replace 50+ songs with ones that are thematically appropriate to the scenes tied to them?

Also just to reiterate: it was members of Cari's Discord community that volunteered to find and replace those tracks with the AI ones being used now. And just to note, the community there isn't exactly shy when it comes to AI usage, be it in fan art, fan AMVs, shitposts, etc. Hell, they even ended up getting a dedicated channel for it.



And considering how close Cari is to his Discord community, well...it's a no-brainer why he let them help him in that particular issue (and why he was probably keen in having them help him again for this particular update).
