Just some text. Likely some trolling on Caribdis' part because people keep asking about it. But you never know since OiaLT had a secret non-canon ending, too. So never say never, but certainly no guarantee the scene will ever be made.
There is not, as per the official walkthrough. It's just some dumb fun that you are competing against centuries old professionals.Even if it exists, he has never played it. So it's still impossible for him to win. Unless there's a way to do it.

Don't think the Ancients were responsible for Caly given that it's said that she was gone for about 18 years (unless some sort of time dilation was involved).
But then again, Chop Chop is implied to have lived for 2 centuries and has been in Hyril'ar. Given that it's implied that he's Syndicate and how said organization has put importance on Orion finding Caly, you don't suppose...?
(Then again the Syndicate being revealed to be the Ancients would be such a simple twist that I can see it actually happening as opposed to introducing the latter as another faction to look out for)

The thing is Orion knows that due to the Syndicate throwing him out of context walkthrough hints, but the vast majority only know of Acheron from Idriel, and she certainly hasn't said anything about REQUIRING Caly to access Acheron during the New Player initiation scene (she only said having the Weapons will help with finding the Gems quicker). So either The Founder and Ulysses know about Hyril'ar and is saving the info to get there as a finale to the Gem Hunt, or The Founder and Idriel know but are keeping it a secret from the general public and that what they have is a mock temple where the unsuspecting player would go to to hand over the gems and "win" the hunt.

I have mixed feelings on the update. In 0.8 I felt like the shooting cliffhanger got resolved way too quickly and easily - in this update, the transporting to Hyrilar (or however it's spelled) took too long to resolve. All of the LI emotion about Orion being missing should've been in the last update when he had literally been shot.
I really missed the action scenes. Even just making the "combat" challenge be swordfighting instead of archery would have helped. Orion didn't really get to do anything "cool" in 0.9.
The dialogue writing also felt a bit more... stiff? There were a few funny moments, but nowhere near as much as prior updates. The elf kingdom stuff was all very "by the books", it didn't feel quite right.
I think the update suffered a ton from having almost zero story advancement. Orion got back from elf land (which introduced a bunch of new characters and stories, but none of them impact the larger story), went to the Airbnb, planted the USB, then went on a date with Luna. Nothing really happened, and zero time was spent in Eternum servers.
You know what it reminds me of, is the most recent episode of Leaving DNA - an AVN praised for its story releasing an episode almost exclusively focusing on relationship arcs. The problem for me is that Eternum doesn't have the same level of interpersonal complexity as something like LDNA. That's in large part because it's a harem game - Dalia and Penny's whole feud ended up just being "okay let's share", because that's how it needs to work.
I can appreciate what Cari was trying to do by making a more character-focused episode - I just don't think it was executed super well. Eternum is at its best when it's super creative, fast paced, and lighthearted. The vibe of this update just felt... *off* to me

Cari has already argued against this (at least when it comes to Nan's POV) back in 0.7 tho. Hard to panic and shit when the person who's supposed to have been shot basically looks fine.
Compare that to this update where the girls really experienced Orion disappearing on them and not knowing where he is, and it becomes understandable why they're panicking NOW unlike before where they only have a second hand account of him getting shot AFTER he got healed by Caly (tho obviously Nova is a different case since she panics quite a lot and obviously being accidentally brought to Eternum didn't help matters).
Orion getting a ranged weapon like a crossbow has been a requested thing on Cari's Discord for a while now (especially given the story parallels to his mythological namesake). I mean, sure it's a longbow and not a crossbow but yeah...close enough.
I dunno, in the grand scheme of things I feel like the update is warranted given that the previous update was mainly focused on Eternum stuff so this update partially being a downtime chapter makes sense (not to mention the Christmas event kept being postponed due to story stuff and Luna's date was at least foreshadowed in the previous update).
On the other hand, yeah I suppose I too was disappointed with the Hyril'ar arc, but mainly because I felt the lore we got there wasn't enough...tho I felt it confirmed some things that I've long been suspecting about the story but haven't jotted down in this thread just yet.
