It was a really nice update, characters have become really well fleshed out by now. Only thing that is less of a thing, the cliffhanger at the end. It is not as dramatic as previous ones, IMHO.

I enjoyed this update, here is a quick spoilery review:


The Elf part was too long - by far. Too many new characters I don’t care about, too many new subplots I don’t care about. I don’t like Calypso, but even if I did I‘d still say this section should have been cut by 50% or more. The main LIs aren’t getting enough character development - as commented on by numerous people in this thread - and we didn’t have a lewd with Annie, Nancy, or Nova, but we fucked a random maid? Cmon!

The Christmas getaway was great - but it should have been longer. Penny‘s scene was good, I think much better than Motor Madness. The hot tub game was great, could have been spicier, but the concept is fantastic and I think there should be more mini games like this. The Dalia - Alex threesome was S+ tier! Best money shot in the game, which helps to get over Dalia’s last scene which was a travesty, especially the money shot. Lots of great shots of the two girls, we actually got to see their faces (again, so much better compared to Dalia’s last scene). Only wish would have been for some animations of Dalia being penetrated.

I enjoyed the HQ mission well enough, it was good to have Chang come along. Again, this could have been a little longer, and actually advance the main plot, if only the Elves hadn’t taken up 2/3 of the entire update.

Luna’s date was good. Good length, and a great scene to finish off the update. I wish Dalia’s first sex scene was crafter as well as this one - great foreplay, great action, good cinematograph, great animations. I wasn‘t a Luna fan till the barn BJ scene, but now she’s firmly in my second tier of girls, tied with Alex, Annie, and Nancy, right behind Dalia as number one.

Cliffhanger is good - I don‘t need it to be a nail biter like Orion getting shot. I think it will actually move the plot forward.

Really don't know how you can dislike the elf part. The tournament was beyond fantastic, Calypso got a crapton of characterization, more than any other character got in half an update. All the side characters are memorable as hell, from General Lan (I mean Arannis, of course) to Lorelei, even the nasty elves and the bloodthirsty suitor elf.

The only real downside is Hyril'ar will have an unsatisfying conclusion because we built it up as a massive civil war and tons of characters, but there's not enough time top explore it fully.

Also elf plot was 11/10 AAAA quality, from the music, to the visuals and the animated scenes like when you tell Arannis (I mean Lan, of course) in a panic what happened.

There were also so many good moments like the guard out of nowhere commenting Calypso's tits, playing the lyre during the tourney, waving at Lorelei and almost everything else to do with her enthusiasm, the training, Arannis (I mean Lan) and his speeches.

Just no idea how you can dislike it, I think it's the finest plot ever put in a VN.

This gives credence to the theory that Eternum sits in between Earth and Hyril'ar and that both Earth and Hyril'ar are "real world" but you can't travel from one to the other on your own. Calypso can reach Eternum from her end and Orion can reach it from his end. They would both need help from the other to reach the other side.

i would say that Earth and Hyril'ar are in not "real worlds" all of them are Real. they are "special" tho. like having around them some sort of "Protective Shield" , maybe we can call it "Firewall", to Keep something in, or keep something Away from something. We know that the "good king, huspand of queen anima" was the first to posses 10 gems of doom. + funny thing that Gems of Doom, acronym is: "G O D". so.. 10 gems was on Hyril'ar. why they were sent to Eternum? By her husband OR Queen anima Herself? maybe someone stole them from them? and why Orion has his dark powers Only in Eternum And Hyril'ar? Does he? we don't know if he tried to use them on Earth. But the source of his powers. Could it be that Both words are separated to Protect Hyril'ar from Earth's dangers? or maybe. Those 2 words are the ONLY worlds "for the living", and eternum is collective cluster of "Worlds of the Dead" , where each world is it's own "Paradise" for the different dead souls. "i always wanted to be a cowboy" so that person after he dies goes to Frontiers world. BUT THEN, if every world for the Living is protected and "Private" from each other. maybe there are more Worlds out there.... Maybe calypso doesn't feel Hyril'as as her "Access pass" to "firewall" it broken. and she needs to use a lot of power AND working "Access pass" for Earth from Orion, to Bypass it's protection.... Hm... Yea.... Very Stupiddo Theory on my part

It's probably either made specifically for the game or some song with very little renown cuz even the AI I trained to sniff out the songs came back with fuck all. But if you just want the song, unren the game files, it's in game/audio/0.9 folder, file called lovefrench2

Thanks, I guess I'll have to do just that, its basically impossible to find, it seems, I tried various other options as well.

It's really beautiful, I wrote down the lyrics by ear to try to find it. I'll copy/paste them here in case anyone wanted to understand them. And might edit this with the audio file if I manage to dig it out with your advice. I'll have to download the full version of the release I guess, its not there in the 'Compressed' version, which puts everything in one big file.

They could have accidentally ended up in Eternum. There's a lot of talk about arrogance etc., so it's possible Yliar or the guy who came to fight him died in Eternum and the gems were scattered or something. Back before Ulysses sent humans en masse there. I mean Eternum is genuinely fucking massive, if Calypso can open a portal for like a guy and it's hard to hold her imagine how it would be like to find the gems? So likely they gave up. But if you have tens of millions of people looking for them and an ability for them to go to wherever they want, they can.

Yeah the dev said multiple times how this was the longest update yet, but i don't know how he counted the sex scenes/animations or the lines of dialogue because it was pretty short overall.

Also, the AI music tracks with vocals are next level bad (Which is strange since the one during Annie's sex scene was very good).

An analysis to my taste, fully agree. The elven part was on another level, set the bar really high for any content in the future. The Kredon part after it was kinda meh.

First, no idea who Lan is, so the in-joke you repeated four times goes over my head.

Second, your second paragraph is a big part of why I didn’t like it. This was update 9 of 13, there are a tonne of subplots on the go that need satisfying resolutions, this is not the time to introduce a brand new one.

Third, I don’t care about any of these characters, I don’t care about the General, or Lorelei, or the three regents, or the three suitors, the houses that are loyal and the ones that aren’t.

Give me Chop-Chop. Give me Jerry. Give me Wenlin. Give me Maximus. Heck - give me Annie! Give me another fun interaction at the cabin. Give me more Orion - Luna interaction post sex. Give me more story development at Ulysses HQ. Give me more story development with Axel. Give me something in the WRE instead of just name dropping it. Give me more of the things you’ve already spent years developing and getting me to care about, not something brand new out of left field I have no connection with.

Thats why I didn’t like the elf part, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable, and it shouldn’t be difficult to understand.

Havent been able to extract it properly and attempts at audio capture did not give the desired quality. So I'll give up for tonight, but there are complete archives of Eternum 0.8 music out there, even on Spotify, so I'm sure -at some point- I'll find that song!
