Thank you, brother, It makes sense, but seriously what do you mean sadly not that many?
We have to wait 4 YEARS for the endgame.
6-8 years total development time for a big game seems fair to me. Not even that long to be honest.
Big mainstream video game titles made by big teams take 6+ years on occasion so I would consider this timescale as normal and not crazy long when you scale both the medium to a VN and the team to very small/solo.
And yes, maybe, perhaps, possibly, it could be that just a liiiittle bit of attachment may be involved as well :KEK:
I do want to see the end and epilogue of Eternum though and am excited for whatever comes after. But there were earlier estimates of up to 20 updates and I would not have declined that possibility but it is what it is.

Hello Guys, Im just playing and I noticed that Orion is connecting to the Eternum without the device and doesn't even know it or realise it after coming out. Whats going on? Did I misunderstand the situation or is he just that absent-minded like me?
I think the idea is that his brain kinda rationalizes it for a time and he thinks it might just be a dream or that he probably fell asleep with his Eternum gear on etc.

I'm not sure how far you've played, but it becomes more and more clear to him towards the end of the current content that something isn't right.

Yeah. I'd add that making a game of this quality isn't as simple as posing a couple of models in HS2, rendering, adding some text to string pictures together and calling it good. There's a lot of work involved in creating more "cinematic" (for lack of a better word) renders, and a lot of renders in scenes. Then there's image post-production, coding etc. That's not to mention actually writing (not that easy!), asset modelling (because I think Cari commissions those, rather than doing it himself), custom graphics, sound design etc.
It's a lot of work for one or two people.
It's also totally worth it. I'd sooner wait for 4 or 5 Eternum-quality games than have dozens of mediocre ones. So I wait patiently (for the most part). That's just me, though.

This could tie into the theory that Orion repeats events in a sort of time loop.
That's just one interpretation. Another interpretation is that it's like Bioshock: Infinite/Steins;Gate where there are countless alternate realities and that people like Idriel are aware of such and that they are curating our Orion's reality to be the "ideal" in order to "break the chain" and ultimately free the dead from their unnatural undeath. Another is that it's like Planescape: Torment where time happens in a linear fashion and that it's more of a "reincarnation cycle" where certain events play out the same way and actors play roles similarly but the circumstances and variables are always different. Caly's tale of Anima is an example where such past events are repeating in the present and Idriel is aware of this and wants to break the deadlock because said deadlock is related to the dead being trapped in Eternum.

Thanks, brothers, I think you are ALL AWESOME.
ps. It's definitely a dimension kinda thing and Orion can travel between them.
maybe he's Thanatos reincarnated.
ps2. Does anybody still think that William Bordat bitch is Thanatos?

Random question. Do you guys read Orion's lines in an English accent or American accent in your head?
I read everyone's lines in an American accent, but it's just because it's what I'm used to hearing (English is my 2nd language and I had an American teacher). Even if I know that the characters are supposed to be British. I guess this depends on each player's environment

How far are you? Because the game basically answers your question as to who Thanatos is (unless you think the reveal is a lie).

I think most likely is Orion would have moments where an English accent shines through but I think he's mainly "supposed to" have a midwestern U.S. accent.
Annie and Chang would likely sound British though.
Nah, Annie has a Russian accent.

Kidding aside, IIRC Cari said that he basically wrote it with everyone having a "neutral" accent in mind, which makes sense given that you can't really write an accent without having it be a bitch to write and read (see: written cockney accent), moreso if you're unfamiliar with said accents (Cari is Spanish).

I think he didn't live long enough in England to adopt an English accent. A person's accent is, I believe, formed early and from their surrounding environment, though it can adapt a little over time in the right circumstances. I know people who have lived in England for many years, arriving as adults, and do not have more than maybe a hint of an English accent, their original accent almost completely intact. Their daughter, born in England, has a very English accent, not influenced by that of her parents but by her friends as she grew up. Orion was young enough that his accent is probably mostly American with an English influence.

Then again, somehow Orion forgot what miles were while living in England, so who knows what goes on in that weird brain of his :ROFLMAO:.

The true question would be: which English accent. There are many. He lived in London but that doesn't narrow it down. London is filled with people from all over the UK.

I read the accents sort of neutral, as I do with most things. Consistently doing an accent you don't know well is difficult.
