Will Calypso be added as a separate character in the gallery in the next update? Currently her scenes are in side girls category and since we have relationship points with her, wouldn't it make sense to have her as a separate character along with the other main LI's?

No, you understood correctly. I was more objecting to the idea that "every 8 months" and "once a year" are the same thing, because they're not. But I was probably more unkind about it than I needed to be.

My sassiness aside, MAGO-DAG is absolutely correct. There are probably at least 10-15 hours of gametime minimum in the current version for an average reading speed. Significantly less if you just skip reading everything and go straight for the lewds, but that would be a shame because the story and characters are pretty great.

Also, if I'm correct in my interpretation of how far you've gotten.... there is a LOT of game left for you to go through, even now!

Well the game is fun I'm not denying that i am saying that it's lacking in the consistence of the updates and i don't personally like to play a game that isn't finished or keeps a slow pace of updating like summer's gone i loved that game but it's veeeeery slow to release a new update and if u like me play a lot of games u will forget the plot when u move to another games then return to it

Sigh... you have to understand that graphics and quality require more time, not to mention the duration of one update...
and yes, comparing Eternum with the one you mentioned? Tsk-tsk, bad omen! Eternum's dev is always true to its plan and progress.
But as I said, with each update it becomes longer and better!

But alas, can't please people... if Cari released monthly short updates, there would be whining, the same applies to the annual update.

I don't know who Calpyso is, but what about Calypso? Maybe she'll be added as LI... although I would call her a bonus solo alternative choice in the future besides the harem.

Not remotely comparable. SG has been remade a bunch of times already with no visible end in sight while Eternum knows when it's going to end and continues to crawl towards said end. Plus a lot of people here have more faith in the dev given that he has one finished game in his belt.

And I don't get your comment regarding "lacking in the consistence of the updates" when dev is known as one of the most consistent AVN devs out there when it comes to updates (and providing news and current prog status of the update). Just because dev workload has reached a point where he seemingly releases 1 update a year (a fact that he said he wanted to rectify in future updates by trimming the content a bit), that doesn't put him in the same level as devs who would, say, go on indefinite hiatuses or be locked in remake hell (which your comment is basically implying).

If we chose the correct options in Calypso's path it would be pretty damn awesome if the game changes the gallery and promotes/upgrades Caly as one of the main LIs from the side girls

Yeah would definitely like that and also since we are gonna get more Calypso scenes in the future, it would be really nice to have a separate gallery screen for her with her stats

Nah, don't compare Eternum to SG. Both of Ocean's VNs pale in comparison to the content Eternum has, despite being older projects. Sure, it takes quite some time for the updates to come, but you at least know they will arrive, unlike with SG or WIAB, which may take more than a year to come out. You can see the story being resolved and relationships with the characters being developed by each update, unlike any of Ocean's VNs.

Besides, Caribdis does have one VN already completed (Once in a Lifetime), while Ocean can't even reach halfway of any of his works before he decides to remake them.

This is def my biggest issue with the game, I feel like there's no freedom to roleplay or make any choices, you practically HAVE to play with the walkthrough open.

At that point, why even make dialogue choices? Just straight up ask the player, do you want to be on this girl's route, Y/N?

I'm still salty that choosing to not ask Luna about her gloves after the first eternum play session locks you out of her path forever. Like, fuck me for not bringing up something that clearly makes her uncomfortable out of absolutely nowhere?

Because this AVN is less of a WEG and more reminiscent of old school JP VNs like Fate/Stay Night where the objective is less on roleplaying the MC (like in other WEGs) and more on finding the optimal/correct choice in order to proceed towards the ending, with the other choices serving as bad end options/route killers.

I don't use a walkthrough and don't have any trouble. I used a walkthrough after the fact for the dev's previous game just to see what different possible endings there were, and I think I checked to see what the best choices were from the alchemist or something since that wasn't an immediate response.

I'm not trying to brag or anything, I'm just saying the game isn't designed to be *hard,* you just have to know what game you're playing. So often, you are very clearly given multiple choice options where one of these is going to be the right one and picking the others will miss out on relationship points or even close a route. There are plenty of games written in that style of "guess the right answer" and playing around with that and making it fun is often part of the game -- indeed, it's the only real gameplay a storyline game/visual novel might have. Sometimes it's funny (there's at least one popular AVN here which makes searching for the *wrong* answer to get comical game overs a big part of the fun), sometimes it's serious, sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it intentionally isn't and the right answer was complimenting someone's pen (a satirical nod to the nature of the gameplay), sometimes waiting for the payoff (this was clearly the right thing to buy in the shop but why?) is the point, but if you think about it like that it's easy almost all the time to see when there's going to be a right answer and how to find it. The feedback system from the beating hearts and the quicksave/rollback feature is your friend. You're supposed to fiddle. It's not really mean to be played as a roleplay where you pick best girl and get substantially different playthroughs if you focus on different LIs (there are games like that aroudn here), it's a collect-em-all where there's an intended best path and little mistakes are OK but too many or big ones will cut content for worse alternatives.

When you've got options, try each and rollback. If one of them had beating hearts or extra dialogue or what have you, you got it right, probably. If you want the full content in one playthrough, make sure you get most of them right. The game will let you make wrong choices so that it's a game and not totally kinetic, but it almost always gives you the feedback you need more or less immediately.

yeah I get that. I'm not saying it's difficult or anything, I guess it's more of a matter of personal taste.

but like for me, I feel like there could be more of a middle ground than the way Eternum does it. For example, take a look at Superhuman. That is also a "collect-em-all" where you're not really meant to keep replaying and focusing on different girls, but it uses a lenient point system to decide if you're on routes, rather than a point system AND insisting that you make specific choices at specific times or you get locked out regardless of points.

Exactly this, I don't even remember the names of the characters let alone the plot cuz the interval b/w updates are just too damn long for SG and WIAB(and also BaD on that note).

Pretty sure I made it past there my first play through without buying it but maybe I'm remembering wrong. I seem to remember an option to set off a bomb when you're up there but it's been awhile.
