He's probably doing it to reassure Patreon/SS subs since he's been hunkered down for a while without much comment about the prog (save for the one he gave a few days ago about render count now going up to 2k+). He also prolly needs to vent about the update speed so I say just let him.

That makes sense. Everyone is on edge with how long it´s taking him.

Now that we heard from cari in discord that this update is 50% bigger than the last one meaning aproximately 2500 renders, and IF this number is what the update will actually be, """IF""", looking at the last sneak peak left me worried when it said it was at 1350 renders. Unless Cari does an update on patreon soon, i'm starting to have second thoughts about the release date being this year.

Doesn't change the fact that he's already 80% done, so it's not as if the current prog got scrapped or anything.

My theory is that the episode ballooned on him more than expected. He realized that he's probably not at 80% (more like 60-65% my guess), so instead of revising the percent down (which would upset alot of people), he's just delaying upping the pct till he catches up, hence the increasingly long times between updates.
Episode will be awesome and I can't wait, but I'm guessing December at the earliest, wouldn't be surprised with a slip into next year though.

In the long run this is great, as eternum will simply have more content and be a better avn when its finished

And i know the art and story are amazing, but these update circles get over the top considering there is not that much branching in eternum. Love the devs work but i would not sub anymore other for the finished end version at this point.

Yes, but it's not the version after 0.9.

We still have about 2 1/2 months so I doubt it. Unless something comes up IRL that'll stall development big time (/knocks on wood), worst case is it'll release for the highest tier in December (which I'm sure is gonna get leaked here fast given how many are already having the worst case of withdrawals and all that).

I am not promoting Piracy but the story is strong and many people can't afford to pay that much even if they wanted to due to international transaction and stuff (even more since credit card providers started messing with it).

I mean rehab centers for extreme cases still exist. You can cry about it, but it is what it is. Also, just because the dev places it there doesn't necessarily mean he supports the idea (especially since said rehab center has ties to a shady-as-fuck megacorp who's diversifying the usage of their VRMMO in various fields).
