Eternum seems to be the best game on the site according to the weighted rating. What do you fellows think might be the reasons behind it? (It's been a long while since I last played the game.)
Combination of "high quality" and "mass appeal". I won't talk about the high quality, because we already know about it. The mass appeal on the other hand, there is a lot someone may take from this. Let's just say that every "site has it's own unique user base" and "harem VN with male lead" check a lot of boxes for the user-base here. I don't say as good or bad thing, but as simple fact. It has reached the top ranking of the site because it appeal to the user-base, otherwise even if it was number of magnitudes better, it wasn't going to be as high ranked as it's now.

All are posible, except axel one. In the end of the current update, you meet a broken axel who finded out the truth, and in a way, showed he actualy cared, even if a litle bit, for his friend, and even asks about how is alex doing. For my point of view, he is a kinda grey area character like his father, insuferable unmoral or decent people, but not entirely bad. Even his father, with his vulcanic temperament, didnt do anythign stupid to orion, and i belive deep down is kinda impresed he managed to find calypso and a few gems already
I wouldn't even call Axel amoral at this point, honestly. He's a spoiled little jerk, yes, but he's grown up in a life where money and power were everything and he never had to understand social dynamics or, really, other people, because he could just buy or muscle his way through any issues he ran into - if he even faced any, that is; most people heard his last name and were too afraid to cross him.

The fact that he's actually starting to change upon realizing that he was wrong about Benjamin's fate and that his lavish lifestyle may be built upon a bloody secret is a sign that he is not, in fact, an amoral person; he's just naive and sheltered, disconnected from the world in his ivory tower. He lived a life that was better than everyone else's and enjoyed it, justifying that he must deserve it because he was a Bardot and Bardots are simply better than everyone around them. Now he's discovering that's a lie, and his entire worldview is being called into question, but he's not retreating from that. He's determined to find the truth. I admire that.

Highest production quality on the site imo. The only real flaws are the abysmal worldbuilding and massive loss of side content if not doing the harem route
Production quality is indeed great. But lets not exaggerate, its nowhere near Project: Passion in that regard. I don't think any game could be, unless an actual studio gets involved.
IMO the rating is more because of the overall package. Eternum has no real weak points that would warrant taking stars away. And it speaks for itself that the rating hasn't taken a hit even tho there hasn't been a content update in such a long time now.

To me it's because the storytelling is higher quality than just about all of the other adult games I've seen. The visuals are also top notch with the animations in particular some of the best I've seen from any adult game (better than Being a DIK IMO). The characters are likeable and well written, the story is original and interesting enough that I would find it enjoyable even if there were no sex scenes at all, the sex scenes are top notch, the music is good, and there really aren't any glaring weaknesses.

I was blown away by the jump in quality from his previous game to Eternum. I actually ended up playing this one before his previous game and found myself wishing I had played them in the opposite order. If he makes any kind of leap in quality after this one when he moves on to his next one all bets are off.

Those are exactly my feelings, having like you played Eternum before Once in a Lifetime.

Maybe the reason why Calypso still has not ascended to full LI status yet is that Cari knows he is going to kill her off for the story? I can't ever see a LI dying, but Calypso? Maybe...
Honestly at that point I've got no clue what Cari's got cooking over there, even if a lot of the theories I had turned out to be true but the reveal and how they came out to be a thing totally surprised me... On another note, Calypso is (as far as I remember, I haven't played in a while) the only girl with the same set of variables as the main LI's, so maybe the decision could be because Calypso doesn't belong on 'normal' Earth?

I'm hoping she survives whatever happens in the story, but it wouldn't surprise me if she had hot elven princess-ly duties to attend to by the end of the game and staying with Orion and the others turns out to be far from a viable option for her and that's why she's visually and narratively separated from the others.
