On the matter of recaps:
- I really love the way BaDIK handles this. While that game gets a few things wrong in my opinion (to the point it's really overrated), the recaps are done just perfectly. A BaDIK recap feels exactly like a recap at the beginning of an episode of a TV series. It makes the entire game appear much more polished than it would otherwise. But I can see why that isn't becoming a standard. It must be a lot of effort.
- At the other end of the effort scale, there is the way that one distinctly amateur and very eccentric game (which screams "made by an autist" to me) does it: Jeijei's Harem - Calm Before the Storm. Between two episodes (or in this case: days) it displays a simple page with non-clickable portraits of all love interests known at that point and a simple, text-only list of player decisions and love interest statistics. This is very low effort but almost more useful than what BaDIK does.
