Think copyright is in issue for things like that, but honestly I'm not all that sure on how exactly it works.
I mean you can probably get around it somehow, but still.
Copyright does not apply to these games (most of the time) . Because content is stolen (used without permission , like porn and other)
But what does apply is that ppl gonna bitch and moan that u hijacked the project , and now trying to cash in on others work.
That being said . The best course for this tipe of game would be community contributions thru Git or similar.
And without the intention for profit.
Reason : Up to this point , nobody was trying to cash on this game . And the person who tries , will get a shit storm , and damaged reputation (if they care about such thing).
Therefore : Someone who would be willing to host and maintain this game , and compile community contributions for FREE . Would be best suited .
Conclusion : Its way too complicated , and not many would find the time to do it .
My personal opinion : I would very much like if Crushboss would continue his work on this . As his skill in this (and other games) Are pretty good . And u can easily see , that that dude knows what hes doing . And doing a damn good job at it .
