I'm not the one who posted it here, thus I had nothing to do with the removal of any tags. So take it up with the uploader. I don't work based on the rules of f95zone, oddly enough. I work on my own schedule and my own set of rules.

That's the hassle of creating something, being seen while creating it, and having to interact with players in social medias. It could be a drain. Limit your social media interaction time, and focus on creating when you've the drive. It's a good game, I hope you'll finish it someday! I'll not complain about time, since I enjoyed it for free! Teeth in the horse mouth and all of that. I know it can be hard, but having people criticizing and complaining come with the territory... Just put a buffer between you and players, focus on life and creation. And sorry for your loss.

Actually, that's exactly what it means. A seasonal special is typically a standalone chapter that focuses on a specific event (ie. Halloween) that usually only has minor tie ins, if any, to the main plot. People are absolutely justified to come to that conclusion based on the title alone. You shouldn't add plot important content under the title of a seasonal special. Something like chapter 3.5 would've been more appropriate.

Look, I know this probably won't help, but here goes.
Seeing as how long this game has been off the radar the fact that so many people immediately popped in to comment is a testament to the quality of your work. Even the negative responses are from people who are still watching this game after all this time and came right over to check the update out soon after it was posted. As they say, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy.

That doesn't make the negativity any more fun to absorb, but you don't really owe anyone an explanation unless you agreed to provide one or they're paying you for one (patreon/subscribestar etc), so the above explanation is more appreciated than silence (by most of us at least, I think).

I hope you do get around to continuing the story as it's one of the very few where I never skipped through dialogue or just looked for a gallery unlock to see the scenes and bypass the story altogether. It a fun read. But yeah, life has a way of reordering your priorities whether you like it or not and a few of my hobbies have been strangled to an early demise by work or stress, so I get it. Somehow in the last 6+ years on F95zone I've never heard of this game. It sounds as if there are some unhappy feelings about it.

Nevertheless, I'd like to ask: is it worth playing in its current state?

Yes. The beef in the threads that people may have with the dev and/or the release schedule is a separate thing from the quality of the game itself.
The game has a decent amount of content, the renders are good, and the dialogue is actually really funny. And although the current build ends on a cliff-hanger, it's a fully realized "episode one."
It's worth the time.

I get the frustration over putting a lot of work into content only to receive backlash over it. That being said, it does seem odd to be upset that people made the assumption that a Halloween special is, in fact, a holiday special.
