This game is an RPG first and a Porn game second. H-Scenes are not the focus from what I have read / seen. Let this be your first and only warning.
Tbh, this somehow pisses me off. Like, if I wanted to play a real JRPG, there are tons out there so much better made and in-depth with better story, mechanics, visuals, etc. Why do these porn game producers even think they can compete with that and not focus on what makes their game sell in the first place? It baffles me.....

Eh, idk

Monster Girl Quest and MGQ Paradox were legitimately some of the better RPGs I've played for a long stretch

I put like 80 hours into Paradox and barely looked at the porn until I beat it

Occasionally they get it right

I guess everything on it's own would appeal to a certain audience
  • e.g. catgirls for the depraved ones
  • communisms through neck bites for the kinky ones
  • tanks ... well obviously for the world of tanks players among the dwellers in f95 :KEK:
but combining all these you don't get to satisfy your ordinary f95 dweller but rather the

you don't have to be the best at anything to have an enjoyable story. for example, mgq paradox, an rpgmaker game that barely runs on 800x600 with no widescreen support could be called shit, and you'd be right to some degree, but me and many other people like it because it's simply a good read and quite enjoyable as a game. turns out, most people don't like endless, pointless masturbation and would like some story and context to go along with it.

Occasionally they get it right

With that logic, no one should attempt to make anything unless they're a part of a successful company. Why make amateur porn? Why make indie games? Why make patreon-funded VNs?
If a developer decided to make an adult RPG, then I fully expect them to be a fully functioning RPG. If they wanted to go the easy route, there's different mediums for that. If anything, it's the barely-a-game adult "games" that don't belong. Why bother making half-assed games to sell CG? Either go all out or just sell the CG straight.

I got no problem with a good story, but the RPG element seems so completely redundant and pointless to focus on. I take back my point about other JRPGs having better story because all these H-RPGs got going for them is the H and the story to go along with it.

What I'm meaning to say is, I always find the "game" element to be a damn chore in these things. They are so basic and shallow 95% of the time. I realize a great few got some pretty unique and sexy mechanics that makes it sort of worth it but even most games with a "horny" meter or some crap like that is incredibly superficial and the game element obviously only servers as a time-waster to make the customer think he got his money's worth.

In reality, if you compressed most of these game to its story and porn, which is the main reason ppl play these games lets be honest, then its over in 1-2 hours. This is why I much prefer Eroge VN over RPGM/Wolf games because the whole game is story and porn, exactly what people want and pay for. But guess what? it takes an enormous amount of effort and time to create even a decent Eroge. Premade shitty vanilla RPGM mechanics? Not so much.

They should focus on what customers play these games for instead of trying to make us waste our time in order to hide how little content they actually put in the game. If you don't realize you are getting played by these companies/creators, then you are a sheep.

A few notable exceptions, that I think these companies should look after are Melty's quest and the Acerola games. In these games, the RPG elements are suppressed or innovative enough to make the gameplay unique. Aside from the massive amount of H-content to make up for its mechanics, the story takes the front seat and you don't feel like you wasting your time playing the mechanics when you got H-content at every corner. The RPG element simply complements the game, and that is how it should be in my opinion.
