Hey everyone. I've been reading your comments about the latest update, and I can’t stay quiet. I’m disappointed in it myself. I poured so much time and energy into filling out all the different story branches, only to realize in the end that it hurt the overall quality of the game. Before the release, I was in a spot where I just couldn’t keep up with creating content for every path, so there was this rush, which led to mistakes, haste, missing animations, cut scenes, and so on. That’s on me — I overcomplicated the script trying to meet everyone’s preferences, and it only gave me a headache and dropped the quality. Well, lesson learned. It stings a bit because I invested so much effort and emotion into this update, and all I ended up with was an average rating—"very low effort game." I’m starting to think maybe I should try my hand at a completely different genre
Just a couple of words of encouragement from me.
First of I pretty much love all your games that I have played so far. (3 including this one)
I'm not really into NTR, but the way you present the games and paint the characters, I almost feel that they do not fall under the normal NTR Genre (Or maybe it's just the way I play them)
It's because your female characters are normally strong-willed and does not get blackmailed or coerced into another unwanted relationships. And they also normally have a genuine love for their current partner. They consider their current partner during the game and that makes for more realistic characters instead of a weak-willed, disloyal, bitches that cannot wait to cheat on their partner.
In any case, coming back to criticisms on F95. There are a ton of assholes on here. Rather make a game you want, than trying to please everyone. You can listen to criticism for sure, but I would recommend you to stay true to yourself first. Otherwise, you will start to hate the game you write.
In terms of switching to a Vanilla game, yes it can be more popular. But consider the following. You currently have a decent following for your games and they are kind of in a niche (I would say between vanilla and NTR). You are very good in writing sympathetic characters in this Genre. Then also consider that 80%(thumbsuck?) of games on F95 are Vanilla, so your competition would be fierce.
I'm not discouraging you to write a Vanilla game, in fact personally I would love a vanilla game from you and it can turn out to be super popular, but only do it if you have a passion for the story. (Maybe you want to try something different or a change of pace) Dont just do it because it might be more popular if you end up hating the story.
My very long 2 cents.
