In the original bible, Jesus and Joshua are the same name. At some point along the way when translating, it was decided that all instances of "Yeshua" would be translated to Joshua except for Jesus, whose name was of course translated to Jesus. If not for that decision, Jesus would be known today as Joshua like all the other men named Yeshua from the bible. That's why "Josh Christ" is such a good joke.
