I use Opera, I am logged in obviously. Excluded the checker from all antivirus programs, issue still persists. The only thing that might pose problems might be that Opera's VPN is on by default. Could that be causing the problem?
this has nothing to do with the browser, the tool is 100% independent from any browser you might have.
if the opera vpn is system wide, however, it might have something to do with it, even though my suspicion is that the antivirus has deleted some required files before you added the tool to exclusions

Just to make absolutely sure, I should paste the game thread's whole link, right?
For example: https://f95zone.to/threads/a-house-in-the-rift-v0-5-4r1-zanith.29627/ should work?
Also I only use windows defender, I turned off real time protection, added an exclusion for the entire downloads folder, allowed f95checker.exe and update.exe through the firewall but I still get the error "there was an error while connecting to f95zone!"
try with this

it will leave a log file behind, send that here after you had the error a few times.
btw this build will not auto update in the future

I used the version with the logging, sadly the log doesn't seem helpful

weird... can you send me your config? its located at %appdata%\f95checker\f95checker.json , make sure to remove the username and password values and for the cookies leave only the first 2-3 letters of the values, if you have any cookies in the config that is

Is it possible to include sorting by status? (i.e. completed, abandoned, and so on)
type "completed", "onhold" or "abandoned" into the text bar at the bottom. you can use that to search through the game names and versions and the statuses are keywords

@weirdsciencex found the issue... i always tested it by pressing enter on the login forms, and pressing enter sends a slightly different callback than what clicking the save / ok button does... and the callback for the button required an argument that was never given, while pressing enter worked fine... will upload a fix asap (though i have a small idea to add so might not be instant) but in the meantime you can get it to work by entering username and password and then pressing return on your keyboard

Doh... so all testers did it the way that works and left a bug in there. :p sorry about that. Well, coincidences like that happen when you don't know what you're looking for.

Huh... looks like I've run out of feature ideas... hit me up in the replies if you want to suggest something!
Not so convinced this is a bad thing. :) less pressure when an idea surfaces.

im running out of ideas... try with this
I just had sort of an epiphany...
I remembered a few posts ago you said the tool was independent of any browser and it just clicked. I just remembered my shithole country blocks f95zone. I did not realize at first because I use Opera and my VPN is always on. Tried with a systemwide VPN and it works flawlessly.
Thank you for your hard work and replies, cheers.

Is there any way to include those options in the Auto Sort? to save on typing. I have pain when typing so have to use the mouse as often as possible. Other than that request, I love this program, it so helpful and convenient to use.

There's word that beta 1.4 is out. Will your tool be affected by it?
you mean this?

because that is 100% unrelated, though the fact that is nearly done might mean that a proper api in on the horizon... we just have to wait

I've noticed that when there is a tool update, it keeps searching and updating the list in the background. This means that when I click yes to update and relaunch, I miss the popup with all the game updates that happened.

Is there a way to check for tool updates first and wait until it has updated and relaunched or the user clicks skip? I suppose I can uncheck the refresh at launch option, it would just be more convenient this way.
