px_vds no need to dm me. as i already said, what you and russianIvan are talking about is NOT what Cake3Purple6Cheese948 was complaining about. the issue you px_vds and russianIvan are experiencing is a DNS issue. your internet provider is blocking either f95zone attachments server, or the cache api. changing your DNS at system level, or disabling whatever weird setting is enabled in the antivirus (or getting rid of antivirus, its retarded anyway), or using a VPN, will fix it.

all of this has NOTHING to do with that you replied to originally. you replied to a conversation involving Cake3Purple6Cheese948 who was complaining about ratelimits. what you are experiencing is NOT A RATELIMIT.

I would suggest using the site to search, then with the browser plug-in you can right click and 'Add this link to F95Checker' to build your library:

I ended up indeed manually searching for the games on f95 and inputting the thread links into the Checker. (A surprising number of them had updates available.) Was lengthy but satisfying.

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but this is the only updater I was able to get running on Linux.
I use Transmission for torrents and needed to make a script to automate extractions. Since I can barely code, I had the AI generate this slop code and somehow got it working. Not sure if it's even efficient or optimized (probably not), but if anyone find this useful feel free to use (at least it's commented and readable).

What it does:
1. Formats the name
2. Moves additional files into the /Extracted Game/game folder (I prefer to scroll down instead of clicking so I add a keymap override file)
*If you don't need that just remove that section of the code (line 24-66) and any calls for "move_additional_files" (Lines: 157,166,175,184).
3. Wastes a bunch of time and resources

If it uses AI, it most likely is not optimized, as such a feature would require an in-depth analysis of the entire procedure in order to optimize it. I'm sure it may do well enough to work.

But personally, I'm lazy enough to do it the old-fashioned way.

• Use the checker to find the updates,
• use the browser to download everything, including the mods (some of which haven't been updated yet),

And I'm paranoid and particular enough to manually unpack and place everything where I want. Mainly because it is part of the pleasure for me to do so.

And, you know what? I don't have any complaints, like I've been hearing about every time someone wants to do something a little different. No, wait, I do have some complaints, yet I choose not to air them. But this is me. You do you. I'm still going to have more fun.

considering you're a f95zone donor i would've expected you were using donor ddl since it lets you download directly within f95checker... if you havent tried it i would give it a shot, but of course whatever works best for you, there is no right or wrong way to use the tool

Oh, I use it. Usually, when there isn't a Mega download. But, when I do, the DDL hangs during the DL at around 1.5 GB which kinda irritates a bit.
Edit: ofc this hangs directly from the page. I'll try using the checker.

I mostly use DDL so I don't have to bother extracting, but, like you, I regularly experience the speed dropping to a crawl after about a 1/4-1/3 of the file has downloaded. Guess the DDL server(s) get swamped when a popular game gets an update

sqlite3.DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed
Is this due to the folder structures not being the same between my old OS or is db file just corrupted? Thoughts?

that sounds to me like the database was corrupted. did you erase the old drive?

I still have it mirrored on two different drives. So far I've only copied the relevant folder from one drive, but I'm attempting to try the other.

Unfortunately it has been so long since I needed to sign in via the app I don't remember how (I don't have it check for messages, etc). It appears the page didn't finish loading for some reason (most likely timed out). The sign in and sign up actually occur on this page as pop-ups - you are seeing the join questions (somewhere in this mess should be the UN and PW fields). Try reloading this page to see if it can fully load.

I think they are pretty self explanatory and the new are just ones I am going to take a look at and see if they are any good. Most just get deleted as I try them out. 125 playing may look like a lot but when many of them are 2-6 month updates you soon realize that it is not really that many. Watching I use for new games just starting that look like they might be interesting but until dev has released at least a second release I keep it in watching as often their never is a game update.
