If you have french "ancestry", but were born, grew up and are living in another country, then you're not french my dear.
US citizen ?
Bruh... I'm East European - you can tell that by litteraly reading my nickname. (If i can speak 5 languages and 1 of them is English, that does not mean i'm a US citizen. Don't forget that people in Britain speak English too. Also, it's a one of the worldwide-used language

)
No, i've been living in France for a long time already.
and are living in another country
You can be "French" even without a French bloodline, or without being born or having grown up in the country. Nationality is not something biological that you can't change; however, you can adopt the traditions and culture of another nationality Culture and traditions are what make you part of a nation. (though it's true that you need to live there)

Have you truly passed your BAC Philo?
