that the design for Borzoi is very similar to one from MSG. So not all that unique, not that I'm complaining. I still dig the design.

I only read so far that Galatea will not be a Gameplay PC which makes sense if the Gameplay should also lead to erotic content she is out of question for a Steam release.
And without a Steam release they will get it very rough so Valve has all the decisions in their Hand if they gonna succeed and could become more.

That's the thing I worry about most. Far too many porn games with gameplay actually fail to integrate the porn in the gameplay loop in any meaningful way - or worse, relegate the porn to a fail-state - basically forcing you to lose on purpose to see the lewds.

While I'm not too enamored with the narrative framework of Subverse (romanceable characters that also breed with every critter you come across - it would have been much better if the MC had also been female) I do applaud the general idea. The female characters need to fuck monsters and get impregnated by them so they can give birth to troops you can use in battles.

I'm still not too sure how they devs of Fallen Doll plan to meld meaningful gameplay with the porn, or if there is any plan to do so.

Their recent attempt to split the game apart into SFW and NSFW parts doesn't fill me with much confidence, and while they backed away from such an idea after audience backlash, the fact that it was even contemplated does worry me that the porn and gameplay were meant to be separate aspects.

With Valve there's basically no clear rules, or at least none that anyone has been able to pin down consistently. It seems it all depends on the person that is doing the reviewing on Valve's behalf, and whatever mood they are in when they make their decision.

The devs will only really have two options:
1. Not sell the game in countries where doing so is likely to be deemed illegal (Germany et al)
2. Bend the knee and censor the game

Option 2 is the worst possible outcome, because even though they said they could release an uncensored version on DL Site, I'm not too optimistic about their willingness and ability to maintain two separate versions of the game on two different platforms.

A complete SFW release on Steam would be a more wise solution for their entire future but even than what they plan releasing NSFW and regional questionable content as well outside of Steam, we will see what Valves reaction will be.
Their different Publishing Backup plans could mean they fear allready a greenlight as a whole and they are under a lot of pressure.

What would the point of that be?

From their comments, they seem to want to make something akin to XCOM, which is all fine and dandy, but XCOM and XCOM-clones are a fairly niche genre, and nearly every attempt to copy the game has ended in failure. Just about the only successful follow-ups to the original were the remake of XCOM, XCOM 2 and Xenonauts.

So unless they are really, really talented game designers and know exactly what they're doing, the porn is going to have to be their main selling point.

True but you also not know how masses react generally on the IP they might see over the Gameplay flaws and see it rather as B-Game trash with higher production value on the IP side which also can have it's charm.
And yeah i also hope not to see the standard implementation way ala before you die you get fucked in the Gameplay context but it is still the most easiest.

For real... It's been a very long time. In some posts they talked about Galatea as a playable character, or one that's used in the main game. Last year she was "almost ready", then she's a Harem exclusive character... Ugh.

The closed Steam (for now I guess) beta is planned for the end of June, or later. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's only going to be for the ones that have the Steam key reserved (pledged something like 36 USD cumulative).

So you're better off checking back here in 2 months or so to see how long the beta version has been delayed for.

Crazy, so they never did any update for patreons since the beginning of the year and they still have an steady growth? The problem is I have no fucking idea how the game will look like, so I basically have to pay for a product I have no idea what it will look like. Yeah those Valve reviewers can be quiet unpredictable, rumors say those are though quiet competent people who decide what gets through and what not and they are going quiet deep in their review process of a new indie studio.

The May costume bundle has been released last Friday. We got bundles for April and March as well, and I think they'll continue to release them until at least the Steam release. Or was that not what you're asking about?

ok so we will get the outfits once the game is released on stream. I thought these outfits could already be downloaded for the current game version.
