Fully agree with your point. Communication, commitment and a good release schedule would definitely do wonders for games like this one, but it's easier for some devs to milk their gullible supporters and sell them empty promises than to show them the results of their work and why it's worth supporting.
A hundred bucks is good pocket money, if you save it every month to buy a few AAA games, better PC hardware like an RTX 4090/the new 5090 (it'd take some time to do this), or fuck it, just to spend it on booze and OnlyFans hoes, penis pumps, weed, dildos for his GF... the possibilities are there.

i suggest sir you can try that after playing till chapter 10 then extract from fresh and don't add wt maybe it will workWell I just spent a few hours playing from the start up to chapter 10's release, so I could use the old walk through mod for the right choices. But when I tried to load the saves with chapter 11 version, they just crash and don't fucking load (because the walk through mod is out of date).
And this title definitely needs a walk through as some of the choices can end in game over moments, or missed content. I guess with the way this title's walk through was created, the saves will only load if the wt mod has been updated. (sigh...I hate when that happens. Hence why I use URM and the Universal Choice Descriptor mod...using them doesn't break saves.)
But wow...so far 10 chapters in and there is still no vaginal sex, only a few hand jobs and blow jobs. And a lesbian content, which I would prefer to avoid. Y'know that's actually an incorrect statement on my part. It isn't a failure. It is clearly a money making gold mine for the creators and admins of those sites. A lot of the folks with pages aren't doing too badly either. Their profits are likely off the charts.
A better way to put it is that these sites are from my POV sapping the creative culture and turning it into a cheap money grab. Turning artists into a bunch of dependent simpletons. The driving force behind the work is the cash, not the desire to create. That cheapens and almost always diminishes the quality of the work. To put it simply, it has lowered the bar of integrity in the artistic world lower than it has been for a very long time. If I am a developer with a creative mind you'd imagine my overlying desire would be to put together a great game that everyone will; A: Like to play and B: Will be apt to buy, like and keep. Those are the things that (in a place I would call a sensible world) will make my creation well received by my audience, and that is what drives my perception of success. Are there models like that out there? I hope so, certainly there has to be some of them still out there. But I'd bet even they would tell you they are among a growing minority in their respective crafts.
So from that perspective I am wrong and you are right. It is not an abysmal failure. It's an abysmal success.
