I'm getting a lot of missing images for some reason. I did unpack assets_v3 as instructed, and what images I do see are translated. But I get a lot of white screens with no "exit" button.

Any ideas, anyone?

3 reasons why that happens..
1... Your extractor (Winrar, Winzip) did not correctly extract characters in names. Not all zip programs extract cyrillic characters correctly.
2... Wrong QSP file.
3... Images missing in picture file which could be download error, wrong qsp, folders not structured correctly.

Hmm...

I used 7zip and the explorer integration "extract to ..." option which is usually pretty reliable.

QSP file is "family_problems_ext_en.qsp" from the first post.

... and the file structure looks ok.

I've tried re-extracting everything, hand copied the assets folder by folder.

Hmm... I just tried the untraslated Russion version. That starts me off being interrogated by a policewoman in an police station. Maybe there is a mismatch between the qsp files.

How's it supposed to start, anyway?

Being interrogated is Episode 2. You need Episode 2 qsp if you're being interrogated.

Episode 1 is focused on the sisters so you're at home on Episode 1.
Episode 2 picks up at the Police Station after you've been taken by the police for whatever you did during Episode 1.

I used 7zip and the explorer integration "extract to ..." option which is usually pretty reliable.

The download link is a rar-file. If it's compressed with rar5 there are known incompatibilities with older versions of 7-zip: subfolders will get extracted wrong. Is your version of 7-zip compatible with rar5 compression?

The incompatible versions are 9.20 and lower, so they're really old.

The version I'm using is dated 2016-10-04 according to the "About" dialogue. I suppose I can always update it, but it's not given me problems with rar files before now.

Episode 1 IS the gofile link. Use the qsp you have now with the gofile download and you'll have Episode 1.
You can look at the pretty pictures you have for episode 2 then download QSP later if you'd like.

Ah right. The way the top post is set out, it looks as if the gofile link is a mirror for the mega link - so I picked mega 'cause it's generally faster.
