The foxstatue doesn´t seem to work in the base game as well
Ah, you're right! I figured the text must not be appearing because of an issue with the translation, but trying to see the description while using the original Japanese files doesn't make them appear either. Huh, I guess the skill descriptions just haven't been implemented yet.
Okay, with that, one issue is solved, and with some of the work I've done, others have been. I figured out that some of the text issues were related to the game being set to English in the settings - doing that affects where a bunch of in-game text is pulled from. In particular, several recently-added Soul descriptions simply don't have any text in the code to display when the game is set to English - on the Soul selection screen, anyway; the description that displays when you're on the slot selection screen is pulled from elsewhere, and it does get translated properly. Setting the game to Japanese makes it so the descriptions for Souls is pulled from the same place regardless of whether you're on the Soul selection screen or the slot selection screen.
Setting the game to Japanese also changes where Status effect descriptions are pulled from, and those lines can be translated without issue as well. That said, a lot of the descriptions for statuses are placed in the Scripts.rxdata file, which will return a bunch of errors if you try to translate all the lines. So I went ahead and trial-and-errored my way to a usable Scripts file. Since the files for the graphics are too large for this site, I've gone ahead and attached only the files necessary for the translation. There's going to be some issues with text getting cut off since I only really took my time with the Scripts file.
To use them, you'll need to have decrypted the game.rgssad file present in the folder toon667 uploaded on the last page. To do that, you'll need a 3rd party tool that can be installed through Translator++ called RgssDecrpyter. You can download Translator++
You must be registered to see the links
.
-Download Translator++
-Extract the files to a folder you'll be able to find easily
-Run Translator++ using the .exe in that folder. It should give you the options for which 3rd party tools you want to install when you first run it. Make sure RgssDecrypter is one of the ones you select.
-Once it is done installing add-ons, close Translator++, open a file explorer window, and open Translator++'s folder.
-Open the folder named "3rdParty", then the folder named "RgssDecrypter". You should see three files, one of which is a .exe file named "RgssDecrypter"
-Now open FantasMv741's folder in a second file explorer window, find the file named "Game.rgssad", and drag it from Fantasmv741 window and drop it on RgssDecrypter.exe.
-A terminal should open and show the app extracting the Data and Graphics folders from Game.rgssad, which will appear in the FantasM folder. You don't need to do anything at this step.
-Once the decryption is done, rename the Data folder to something else, like "JPData", or just delete it if you really don't care about keeping the original Japanese text as a backup (which I recommend against since I haven't fully playtested my Scripts.rxdata file). You'll also need to delete Game.rgssad or move it to its own folder.
-Congrats! The decryption is finished. Now just move everything in the FantasMv741 folder you downloaded from me into your own FantasMv741 folder and you should be good to go!
I'm at a wall when it comes to realizing a full translation, though. Ideally, I could set the game to Japanese and still have full English text thanks to Translator++, but as I said before, lines listed as "InlineScript" in their properties don't seem to translate regardless of what the game's language is set to, and Translator++ can't seem to access the javascript where this text is being pulled from directly. Until I figure out why Translator++ can't find the raw data for the text lines so I can edit the javascript directly, I can't change things like the main menu options or half the dialogue options in the Soma Lantern and Reflection Pool rooms.
EDIT: I just noticed my translated Scripts file interferes with item usage and changing spells from single to multi-target. Please use the original Japanese Scripts.rxdata file in your Data folder until I can upload one that is more thoroughly playtested.
