I've been using Translator++ to enjoy a modicum of understandability with this game, but I'm frustrated that several things appear untranslated in the game even though in Translator++ they are translated and I'm using the correct rxdata files in Fantasm's Data folder. From what I can tell it seems to have to do with the "context" of the line as shown in the line's properties in Translator++; the line listed as a "Choice" is translated properly, but the one listed as an "InlineScript" isn't.

It happens with the descriptions of enemy skills at the fox, too, but unlike with the Reflection Pools and Soma Lanterns, it's all of them instead of half-and-half, so I can't identify why the translated text isn't appearing, nor where the game is getting the original japanese text from.

Can anyone here offer any kind of insight as to how to get all of the translated text to appear in-game?

It might not want to translate it because the choice window is a direct script execution (was too lazy to import it into the version with actual japanese letter support)

Is there any way to edit that without breaking the game? I'm expecting the answer will be "no" but hoping there's a chance.

I did find a method for editing Javascript text described on Dreamsavior's blog for Translator++ ( ), which I tried to follow to translate the Javascript of a few lines to see if I could answer the above question myself, but I got stuck because when I click on the "raw" tab for the line, I get the error "Unable to find the file related to the data. To fix this correct the Raw material location field at the Project Properties," which I can't resolve even when that field is pointing to the Data folder inside the FantasM folder. I'm guessing it's because all the files are in rxdata format so there's no .js files for it to locate.

The foxstatue doesn´t seem to work in the base game as well

Ah, you're right! I figured the text must not be appearing because of an issue with the translation, but trying to see the description while using the original Japanese files doesn't make them appear either. Huh, I guess the skill descriptions just haven't been implemented yet.

Okay, with that, one issue is solved, and with some of the work I've done, others have been. I figured out that some of the text issues were related to the game being set to English in the settings - doing that affects where a bunch of in-game text is pulled from. In particular, several recently-added Soul descriptions simply don't have any text in the code to display when the game is set to English - on the Soul selection screen, anyway; the description that displays when you're on the slot selection screen is pulled from elsewhere, and it does get translated properly. Setting the game to Japanese makes it so the descriptions for Souls is pulled from the same place regardless of whether you're on the Soul selection screen or the slot selection screen.

Setting the game to Japanese also changes where Status effect descriptions are pulled from, and those lines can be translated without issue as well. That said, a lot of the descriptions for statuses are placed in the Scripts.rxdata file, which will return a bunch of errors if you try to translate all the lines. So I went ahead and trial-and-errored my way to a usable Scripts file. Since the files for the graphics are too large for this site, I've gone ahead and attached only the files necessary for the translation. There's going to be some issues with text getting cut off since I only really took my time with the Scripts file.

To use them, you'll need to have decrypted the game.rgssad file present in the folder toon667 uploaded on the last page. To do that, you'll need a 3rd party tool that can be installed through Translator++ called RgssDecrpyter. You can download Translator++ .
-Download Translator++
-Extract the files to a folder you'll be able to find easily
-Run Translator++ using the .exe in that folder. It should give you the options for which 3rd party tools you want to install when you first run it. Make sure RgssDecrypter is one of the ones you select.
-Once it is done installing add-ons, close Translator++, open a file explorer window, and open Translator++'s folder.
-Open the folder named "3rdParty", then the folder named "RgssDecrypter". You should see three files, one of which is a .exe file named "RgssDecrypter"
-Now open FantasMv741's folder in a second file explorer window, find the file named "Game.rgssad", and drag it from Fantasmv741 window and drop it on RgssDecrypter.exe.
-A terminal should open and show the app extracting the Data and Graphics folders from Game.rgssad, which will appear in the FantasM folder. You don't need to do anything at this step.
-Once the decryption is done, rename the Data folder to something else, like "JPData", or just delete it if you really don't care about keeping the original Japanese text as a backup (which I recommend against since I haven't fully playtested my Scripts.rxdata file). You'll also need to delete Game.rgssad or move it to its own folder.
-Congrats! The decryption is finished. Now just move everything in the FantasMv741 folder you downloaded from me into your own FantasMv741 folder and you should be good to go!

I'm at a wall when it comes to realizing a full translation, though. Ideally, I could set the game to Japanese and still have full English text thanks to Translator++, but as I said before, lines listed as "InlineScript" in their properties don't seem to translate regardless of what the game's language is set to, and Translator++ can't seem to access the javascript where this text is being pulled from directly. Until I figure out why Translator++ can't find the raw data for the text lines so I can edit the javascript directly, I can't change things like the main menu options or half the dialogue options in the Soma Lantern and Reflection Pool rooms.

EDIT: I just noticed my translated Scripts file interferes with item usage and changing spells from single to multi-target. Please use the original Japanese Scripts.rxdata file in your Data folder until I can upload one that is more thoroughly playtested.

I've been trying to download the game, following both PhantomKuro and Toon667's instructions, but everytime I get this message and it prevents the game from opening, I managed to open the game successfully once yesterday but I really dont remember how, any assistance would be appreciated!

I happened to me too, download the latest version (the one in the previous page of the thread), open the download, put the folder with the zipped folders inside wherever you want it, select all three of them and press extract here, that should do the trick, then after running the game once ans making a save follow Phantom's instruction for the MTL

Could I ask both of you to send a screenshot showing the files and folders inside your FantasMv741 folder? It would help me reproduce your issue on my end. Wolfklay, if the game ran properly before you followed my instructions, then I probably wrote a step wrong somewhere. I'll try to get it figured out for you guys.

EDIT: Oops. I might have misunderstood. Wolfklay, you're saying you managed to resolve your instance of this issue, right? I didn't catch that on first read. Omknee, I only need a screenshot if Wolfklay's process doesn't resolve the issue for you. I forgot Toon667's upload was in that strange three-part segmented zip. If graphics are missing, it does seem the likeliest issue is that not all the files were extracted from the three zips.

The other possibility is, I did overlook one step to getting the game working before adding my translated files, and that's downloading and installing the RPG Maker XP Runtime, which can be done .

Hey Phantom, here is the file folder, I specifically downloaded the last version to try your mtl, it just happened that by extracting them one by one it did some folder error in my case, nothing related to your work, extracting everything at once fixed the issue, as for your translation it works well, the only things missing a translation are some recollection options and the name of the teleports, overall great work, thank you very much

Ah, I see. Great to hear! I didn't run into that issue with the extraction myself, so I'm glad you were able to provide insight into what might be causing Wolfklay's issue. And yeah, I'm still trying to work out how to get those texts to translate in-game. I went over the details of what I think the issue there is in the same post with my MTL instructions and two posts before that.

The 5 sisters you refer to (I believe there are 4 and a mother) are the bosses of an optional area and I don't think I beat them until I was a fairly high level.

To get to the mansion you don't find a path there. Instead, you need to complete a quest and doing so will unlock a teleport to a forested area with a path leading to the mansion.

I believe this was a bug that got fixed in .743, but I've only seen .741 here so far.

"Fixed a bug where an error could occur when talking to Seimei without reaching Lake Mitra West." - from using Google translate on a part of the notes.
Looking back a few pages, it looks like Toon667 has a tendency to upload the first version of every new update that drops on the 31 of each month, instead of waiting a few days for bug fixed versions to drop. I do like that we can get our hands on it asap, and I do get that it would be a hassle to constantly update his uploads several times with the bugfixed versions. It could still be a good idea to wait until the 6th or 7th of each month - most of the production versions don't get bugfixes later than this - for the least error-prone versions. What does everyone else think?

More testing has revealed that the System.rxdata file I gave you guys will also cause this issue. in order to resolve it, please go into the Data folder you downloaded from me and change out not only the "Scripts.rxdata" file with the original Japanese one of the same name, but also the "System.rxdata" file with this minimally-translated version - the only things translated on it are the names for elemental weaknesses so that you don't need to memorize which Japanese symbol is which element.

I'll plan to make some time for more thoroughly narrowing down which lines interfere with these functions in both Scripts and System soon.

Well I don't subscribe every month, So the version I upload at the end of the month might be the only version I get my hands on, the only reason I resubbed this month was because it was an ass related scene/battle and it was very good, something I've been waiting for from the developer

What do you use to subscribe since Fantia doesn't accept Visa or Mastercard due to the tyrannical puritans that run those payment processors?

I can't access fantia anymore, I used pixiv fanbox and if you were using papal on that website before it got taken away, it'll still allow you to use it.
