Yes then they might stop complaining, but if you ask me, that ship sailed away when the Patreon was chosen as platform for the game. Patreon is a blessing on one side and a curse on the other. People can voluntarly spend money, which is something good, but on the other hand they get to much involved in the production of something that isn't theirs. I mean, we all know how Patreon works. The most common meter here is "time x content" / "time x update".
So if a new night was released every 2 months, people would stop complaining.
The whole problem will be that the project is relatively large and ambitious, but at the same time with a minimal number of developers, without a roadmap, unstable development, confusing and risky project. I don't agree with the milking, but I understand why people feel that way and don't trust this project.
So basically when i see a game on Patreon i don't build my expectation on getting an update every 2 months and on top with the quality (or content) i want. That's why i wrote that this is unrealistic.
Cooldudes "point" was that dev is milking his patrons because he's not pleased with all the existing bugs and because they didn't release their game on halloween, he never mentioned the content in that regard. After showing him that they have the release cycle of 1~2 months on everage he had nothing better to add than a "whatever, it's still milking". Shows to me that he just came in to shittalk about a dev who tries to please his supporting audience with more regular (or in a few cases less regular) updates with the stuff they voted on. And my understanding for such people ends when they mix spreading false accusations with not even doing anything to change what they aren't satisfied with. As i said, we all know how Patreon works, you don't spend money then you gotta take what you get in the end. That doesn't necessarly make the developer a bad developer though.
Don't get me wrong Doc, i absolutely agree with what you wrote. I just don't share the same understanding for such people.
I didn't when this other dude shittalked about the Xmas special which was mostly postive recieved from their supporters who even voted for part 3 until devs wanted to remaster Part 1 and 2. And i didn't when the other dude threw a tantrum because he didn't like the ballsackboy and other simple little things. And this had nothing to to with being a fanboy, it is about being fair to devs.
