I'm not posting detailed review of v16 yet because too few players have had time to play it, but if you're avoiding spoilers, I'll just say that you should expect probably the best event ever created for Fashion Business. What's more, this is the first full-fledged big BDSM event in our game, and it's absolutely beautiful. And it was only the first day of Monica's 7 days of slavery. But there are other wonderfully crafted events and Basement Quest is not the only gem of this update.
P.S.And I'm not entirely sure I have the patience not to snap and write a big review of this update right today or tomorrow, hehe. Positive emotions must find their way out.

If you installed the original game, you cannot have critical errors. That is, the problem may be on your side. Well, if there are such errors - subscribe to Patreon and ask a question to the developer. He will definitely give clarification

Sorry mate but there was nothing in the latest update that was better than Monica's trip on Mr Campbell's boat. Maybe when we get a few more days into the basement, it might equal it. I also see it that way, the update is the second or third best, but it doesn't compare to the action on the ship.

Everyone has different tastes. For me, the basement event trumped the yacht scene, though of course the yacht scene is beautiful and in my personal ranking of sex scenes it is one of the three best scenes. That said, I wouldn't compare the vanilla scene head-on to a BDSM session (let's call it that).
The yacht scene is great on its own, being probably the best group sex scene in our game so far. But Philip's quest means a lot to me, and overall, it's much more important (to me) than "any yacht and any punks in the slums". Some of us already have a bunch of ideas that I'll try to voice to the DM about what could be done in the basement in the future. So the Basement quest is much more important and interesting to me in every way.

- Phillip: Monica stays in Phillip’s scary basement. Will she be cunning and patient enough to fulfill the Contract? Contract signing day. Contract’s Day one. (two long animated scenes, Extra content).

I totally understand that BDSM content tick all the boxes for you. I like it too. Your quote though " I'll just say that you should expect probably the best event ever created for Fashion Business." was probably raising expectations for the content so far, way above what is deserved. We get a blowjob (I never get tired of seeing Monica suck on cock), a cavity examination and some arse whipping tied to a X device as punishment. For me this basement segment as yet doesn't beat the two Marcus prison events in ep2 and 3 or the doll scene from v15. Is it better than monica's first dungeon visit even? Which had her first anal scene.
The basement might end up as the best sequence in the game in the future but it is far from it, as of now. I felt it wasn't much more than a tease of what is to come. It was still good content though.

I'll start with the basics - unlike you and me, many players haven't played v16 at all and would probably like to keep the intrigue alive rather than accidentally read about it in your or my post. So I would appreciate it if you would hide the description of the contents of the Basement at least under the "inline spoiler".
And by the way, what you listed is not all we get in the basement. There's also an animated scene of Monica having sex with Philip. In fact, to see all the current content of the basement, you have to go through it at least twice. We got a lot out of this quest that neither you nor I have listed. And I don't want to list it, because someone will probably open a spoiler and deprive himself of surprise and intrigue.
I was only giving my private opinion, and when I wrote what I wrote, I really meant it. I realize you may not agree with this, but I have different expectations of the game, and for me BDSM content with Monica/Melanie is orders of magnitude hotter and more arousing than any gangbang or threesome, on a yacht or anywhere else. I can't speak for everyone, but I can share my opinion, which I did.
For me, even the first day in the basement is a new chapter in our game and a new level of never-before-seen hard relationships. It's the birth of something new, something many have been waiting for from the developer for the long 3(2) episodes. I think you underestimate how pivotal and iconic this transition from a relatively soft approach to a much tougher one can be. I'll be sure to touch on this in more detail in my v16 review, but here I just want to mention it. So I'm sure it's not a tease at all. The days of teasing are long gone, we have the final season of the entire game coming up, and DM has already picked up speed and momentum over the last 3 updates.
Both the Basement and Steve's content (especially the extra scene) and the VIP-Escort content could mark a major change in DM's approach to the level of rigor of the content he creates, which could mean moving to the next level. In other words, we could be in for an epic Episode 4 if DecentMonkey continues to up the ante and move to tougher content.

I purposely did not list all the events of the basement for the reasons you stated above. You are talking about not giving spoilers for the update, which is fine. I'm suggesting you might, through your own wants and expectations be putting a little too much mayo on this event as it is currently presented. The game is moving lately in a very positive direction and I have enjoyed 90 to 95 percent of the content from the last few updates. So yes there are many upcoming events to look forward to with this game.
Your worried about someone reading our posts and being spoiled. I think it is important as well to not raise someones expectations, to fairly allow them to enjoy (or not) the new content. I'm just lowering this someones expectations if unlike you, and more like me, BDSM content isn't gods gift to porn.
I know it was given as your opinion, I was just giving mine.
