There are good devs, not bad devs, shit devs, milkers and blatant scammers, but fulltime working devs who delivers huge amount of content constantly, regularly and fast are very very few. Did you try an older save where it still works? My guess is that you play a corrupted save file. When you sleep and come back, is it still greyed out?
I am gonna try with with a working save file, and yes, it is still same after a horrible night sleep
