I deleted my saves and downloaded the game again and played the route again really quickly with a new save and it's still the same, it says Monica ran away.

I wish I had read your post earlier, then I could have saved myself trying it out

But I'm glad it's not my savegames, because I've saved all the alternate endings that have appeared so far.

Maybe it's just a typo in the dialogs and it's not worth starting from scratch, but remember that if you want to start clean, it's not enough to delete the saves, you also have to delete the two files called "persistent" (they're the same file) in the saves folder and in the Renpy folder, where the backups of all the games are stored .

Cuz a player playing knows there are multiple choices and multiple endings when playing it and the author revealing that in one form or another, even through an announcement. See, i get why there are multiple endings. I'm not questioning the motive of that which is to satisfy all the different kinds of players. I just think/wish Monica should be ended the way DM thinks it should be ended rather than a multi consensus of players. Let the creator create. Art needn't be diluted at the altar of whims of the audience. Van gogh never painted multiple versions of his paintings so that every kind of audience can pick one of them. It isn't a sandbox game like Minecraft either where the environment is defined and the player is co creating after the creator sets the world.

I don't think there being multiple endings means they are thrown out to appease players. I think many endings will happen at different times much like the couple of ep1 endings did. In ep 4 Monica will be able to maybe escape with Julia or marry one of the investors or whatever other scenario. Doesn't mean these will be all good or bad endings. Iv'e believed from my earliest days playing this game that the final ending will be Monica at the farm. These other 12 endings will happen before this and all will be canon if the players choices for Monica lead her too them. However I have always seen this game being about one woman starting as high as one almost could and ending as low as possible.

This fall to my mind has always been what DM intended from the very start of ep1.

it`s standalone for now. So you should have separate saves.

but you need to play 1 of them again
