I don't like tattoos on women either, but those tattoos Melanie got are a nice exception. Her tattoos and piercings look insanely beautiful and sexy (imo) and her whole new look reflects her current relationship situation with Victoria in the best possible way (as much as we feel bad for Mel).
That said, I didn't like Monica's tattoos at the end of Falling Path..however, I don't like that path at all and played it just to keep up with what was going on.

I agree that tattoos on women are not ideal. But I think you are missing the point of the tattoos. There is no difference between Monica's tattoos and Melanie's. They are both there for the shock and humiliation aspect. No one is meant to see these transformations of either woman and think it looks good or is a good outcome for them. Neither are sexier because of the tattoos. It is all about the humiliation of these two women which we fans should all be happy to see. Humiliation has been and is a huge part of this game.
Now I would have been much happier if the humiliation was kept for Monica and DM didn't waste so much time with Melanie. But not all fans of the game see it as I do.

Melanie's tattoos are very humiliating because we understand them, but I think the original game is in Russian, right?
I wonder if the tattoos in the original game are writen in Russian.
If they're the same as the ones we've seen, a Russian player might not understand them and see it as art, it's like if I see a tattoo that says "slut" or "whore" in Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc., I'll probably see it as art and I might even like the design without understanding the actual message.
But like I said, if all characters in the game canonically speak English, Melanie's career is ruined, she can't hide all that ink in a bikini. Shame, considering how beautiful she was.

Monica's tatoos on the Falling path were too much, even though I like the slum/prostitute part of the game what happened to her body at the end of this path was absolutely unecessary. Some slutty tatoos here and there to mark her as the property of the gang, but inscriptions such as "piss whore"... wtf?

The Melanie tattoos being discussed here are from ep4, and you're stuck on ep2. But I can tell you right off the bat that there are no dirty inscriptions on Melanie's body. As for the game's renders, no one is going to make a separate set of renders with a translation of the tattoos into the player's language. I can assure you, that players are smart enough, and cross-cultural communication on the level of swear words is something that generally no one needs to be taught. Obscene language and similar “forbidden” vocabulary is probably the only thing that is spread around the world, in the sense that there is no need to organize English courses so that, for example, people from Russia can understand the meaning of not too many swear words in English. The same goes for native English speakers..
All characters in the game canonically speak Russian, for the simple reason that the DM writes dialogs in his native language, and only then a team of translators begins to translate all the text and characters' lines into English and other languages. .Just wanted to say i bloody love the tattoos. The humiliation aspect of a permanent marker of your fall into depravity combined with the broader story in both Victoria's and the falling path story line are arguably some of the best payoffs in the storylines so far for me. Atleast until we get the farm. I mean the tongue tattoo, how brilliant was that, well played Vicky, well played. Hopefully Monica is nexct in line to be broken in both body and spirit just like Mel seems to be now.
