Episode 1 is kind of prequel. Episode 2 and 3 sequels with the part after our beloved heroine falls.

the loader thing is just the folder I store my lewd games in. and no - they are in seperate folders - of course. anyway, it's either that this is the first of all renpy games I played (including newer renpy versions) which has problems with the folder structure for any reason (there is no logical reason why it should, but some things I encountered suggest that) or the version here is broken for some reason. I downloaded it from another source now and there are no problems anymore. whatever it is, it would be interesting to hear from someone actually looking at the problem and not just keeping a short glance and then thinking "yeah, the user must be dumb". not my first rodeo, just the first with this very odd problem

That link you downloaded a working version of ep2 from is the classic Ep2 v16 version where Bardi and all the game content associated with him is present. I can only assume that f95 presents links to different versions of Ep2, two of which (possibly) lead to an updated version where the content with Bardi has been disabled by the developer.

Assuming that the archive compression rate of all the archives presented is zero, that means that there may be some difference in these versions. Perhaps on the anonfile and gofile presented version without Bardi, which may cause problems when loading a save file from ep1, where this character is present. However, I can't say that with 100% certainty, as I haven't personally checked any of the ep2 v16 links found on f95 and this is just my guess.

Regarding folder structure (by the way, no one cancelled the 260 character limit, which, for example, still exists in Windows7) I agree with what vimmers says. The shorter the path leading to the game folder, the better. In Windows 10 build 14352 this NTFS file system restriction (260 ch.limit) has been removed, but the user needs to change the security policy to activate it--> gpedit.msc, go to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Filesystem > NTFS, and set Enable NTFS long paths to Enabled.

Anyway, I'm glad (if I understood you correctly) that your problem with loading the save file from ep1 to ep2 has been successfully solved after downloading ep2 from another source. As for the error analysis and the peculiarities of the in-game code, I can only advise you to try to write in pm to Ragnaroekr who is a member of the team and the closest assistant of the game developer. If he has the time, he will be able to give a more qualified answer than I did.

Lmao I am not whiteknighting shit. It's a thing called empathy but that might be a foreign concept to you? Yes, this obviously is a fictional character, but you can empathize with characters too, real or not. Monica is not a perticularly nice person in the game, but nobody deserves to be treated in the way she is. She just keeps getting forced and blackmailed into ever more horrible situations and it's a bit depressing as the game seems to be about her having a massive fall, and she's trying to climb her way out of the situation she's in, but it just doesn't happen.

These are fetishes that you have to like if you want to play the game and discuss it here. If you want to write the truth about the content of the game here, you will get such answers. oh no, you missunderstood. it's the other way around. the save load from ep1 problem ist workaroundable but not solved. the recursion error is game breaking and solved by downloading it to another place.

Also, if the recursion problem is really caused by a character limit problem, then this is the first game I saw in the last 20 years in any way where this is a problem. this should have been solved at the latest since winxp sp2 for almost everything

tried it, doesn't do anything since the 720 version is not even selectable and the problems still persist. as I said, I think the recursion problem is caused by folder structure, which shouldn't happen in any way, but things point to it

No reason at all to take a shower or use the toilet except to view the renders.

I went through all the quests with the bardi, but I don't remember that it concerned him. perhaps it was planned that he would catch her in the shower or pissing .. or not he
