The only thing that surprises me is negative feedback on Discord. I haven't been to their Discord, but I had guessed it wasn't as amusing as this thread. Their perception of negative feedback is consistent with how it was in 2017-2018, and so that is not surprising at all.
The general consensus on discord is pretty much the same as here, just a bit more thought out and said less bluntly.

QueenVic must be a lawyer in real life, isn't she? Funny that she feels inclined to weigh in on the situation, when all she provides is the graphics. And those are pretty good. So is the writing.

That is actually the sad thing. The game is pretty good. The graphics are good. The writing is good. Crush had the potential to be one of the best devs, have one of the best games out there. Yet, he can't for the life of him not figure out how to speed up the actual produciton cycle. Nobody would complain, if he had writers blockage and needed time off. Nobody would complain about the size of the updates, if it didn't appear time and time again that he started working on it a week before the deadline.

Dude, I used to do that in school or even at Uni. Project is due on day X? Could start early and be done with it, but nope. Rather doing nothing right now and have crunch time later on.

He arrived at a point where is dev reports contain more text and take more time to write than the actual update. That is an achievement in itself.

I really should try my hand at writing smut for that sweet patreon grift. Seeing what some people are willing to fork over for an update about as long as the back of a shampoo bottle per page and only averaging about 20 of those every 4 months? What's the worst than can happen? An angry nerd calls me out for not getting him (or her) off faster?

In all seriousness though. Dude can write really well. I'll give him props for that. He just needs to hire a team to help him flush out all those little bits he seems to agonize over. At this point, with how linear the "game" is, its more like reading a fanfic where we get cucked by making our spy waifu and letting him write her into sex scenes that have to be completed or its game over.

There is zero player agency and I don't see how adding the "Lifepath" in the future is going to help matters. All it will add is another layer of complexity to a situation already reaching a tipping point within his own group of supporters. I won't deny that I myself have pledged a few times to see the next few slides early, but it is clear to me that there is little reason to believe that anything will change. The business model of any crowdfunding site demands you drag out content for as long as possible to net the largest sum of money you can make from a group of people that are willing to pay over long periods of time with zero commitments needing to be fulfilled.

Crush is simply playing the game by the rules. He could drop the game tomorrow, make a new patreon with a different name, and go on his merry way with the next grift. Rinse and repeat. I wouldn't call it genius, but I am jealous I haven't tried it myself...

Maybe Crush should generate writing scenes through ChatGPT and choose from variations. If he's willing to try, that is.

The game's source code is pretty much open. Twine isn't particularly hard to suss out, and html has 0 protection on it.

We could, ourselves, just shove the entire game into chatgpt and have it write and code the next parts.

With a powerful enough graphics card you could even have it generate porn on the fly with A1111 or similar stable diffusion algos.

I can see potential in what I assume to be laying the foundation for the plot to advance with Emilia that shows some interesting options and a path to advance the story, do you as the player attempt to shield her or use/corrupt her so she's tput in compromising sexual situations in your place, who's going to be forcibly "promoted" to bargirl (you or Roxy I'm guessing the latter at this point) and maybe one of the bargirls you just partied with "disappears" to make that vacancy and advance the investigation.

On the erotic side of things the blowjob scene was both hot in how it played out but overwritten and out of place with all the mental trepidation and uncertainty your character has. While I do like that kind of more "authentic" writing, at the point you are having a mental breakdown over sucking the bar trainer's dick you've already been fucked by the boss guy and Connor (multiple times, and Connor starts "paying you") without a choice to avoid it or any control over the scenes being forced to have sex without a condom and creampied against your will while not on the pill. You also have let's be honest likely been playing as corrupted a route as possible where you got fucked twice by Max to bug his phone, strip searched and fingered upon entering the country, sucked the dealers dick in a car while he filmed you, and then hours later got fucked by some guy you are partying with to "build rapport" with your coworkers.

The writing makes this feel like it's the first time your character crossed a line they didn't want to but that happened two years and four updates ago. You shrug off getting creampied at a job interview, but have a mental breakdown sucking a dick to keep your cover? It feels like if the character is going to have these points where they lose emotional control it should occur in order of corruption, or there should be some big bombshell causing it not a "minor" foreseeable event on a path you've already chosen.

It seems the negative feedback was too much and now Lovely Illustrator Victoria TM is more or less directly asking for praise instead:

Jesus Christ that is such blatantly transparent shitty corporate speech, even more so than usual. Makes a company like EA seem almost honest and straightforward in comparison and it boggles my mind that someone sees that and thinks, "yeah, this is where I want my money to go."

Michael Jackson eating popcorn.gif

I just got stomped by one boss in BG3 few times in a row and I almost smashed my keyboard. I came here for some LOLz to improve my mood and this thread never disappoints.

It started with changelog for 1.19 being N/A. And by reading all the hate I got it that it had only 1 new BJ scene and that is all. Haha, CrushStation doing nothing as usual. :ROFLMAO:

anyone have any Working versions of the old versions of this game? The website has 1.13 avaliable, but it's never Playable whenever I try it. Curious about the mixed version of the backstory & start of the agent stuff, if such a version even exists. Only ever played the boring backstory & even more boring 1.16+ versions.
Here you go. Version 1.6.3
That is the last version before 2nd restart. (Yes, there were 2 restarts. I dont have that really old 1st version anymore.)

That's pretty much what I thought. Its a shame that Victoria has to do the PR for the game when Crush is the god damned head of it.

Take responsibility and write out your own corpo double speak Crush, we all know you don't care anyway.

Maybe she should also take over the writing...if that isn't actually something Crush wrote...then again...so many words, it would take him at least a month with 80h/day to write that much.

That parody was more interesting in a 0.01 version than any of the versions I've played of this. I almost wish that was lobster's main game instead of good son. Also Maybe this is just me, but do the sex scenes in this game kinda... suck to anyone else? Just the same old somewhat forced "ugh im so innocent i can't believe i have to do this with an ugly man - wait why am i horny" every single time. Doesn't help a lot of the worst ones are unavoidable. The spy story & unique character creator/paperdoll was what interested me at first. But it's almost irritating to playthrough. Her jerk off fantasies are better than the actual sex scenes.

It basically means in an actual 12 hour work cycle the minimum word count would be like 4000 words if you only spent 1 out of 3 hours writing. But it could be anywhere up to 12,000 or more.
That's not how writing a script works! Words per minute / hour / day is for typists not writers.

Only explanation is he hates developing the game and every word is a struggle because he's so unmotivated.
Why is that the only explanation?

I can think of many, of which any or all could apply:

- Burns out every crunch time then takes months to recover.

- Surrounded by people telling them their game is so perfect they should spend as long as possible to make sure their next release is even more perfect.

- Imposter syndrome from being told every release is perfect so they struggle to start and finish anything.

- No manager to tell them to just ship it already.

- Stretching out the story and delivery for fear that people are only interested until the first bargirl event.

- Constantly rewriting to be less offensive for the sensibilities of sensitive modern audiences.

- Writing requires research so they're taking regular trips to Bangkok.

- Productive work doesn't really begin until a few weeks before the release.

You forget the option where he has no clue where the story is actually supposed to go, let alone finish. He has ideas for scenes, but not an entire picture, it seems. He gets stuck writing about minute details in great length, stretching it as you say, but in the end he ends up nowhere.

He has transformed the game into a linear novel, which is fine and should make it easier for him, but he still can't deliver meaningful content. His writing is good, but over the last few years he introduced several new mechanics that never do anything and aren't even being used ever again. As I said, he loses himself in ideas for scenes and features, but doesn't know where he actually wants to go. No wonder writing takes so long when you literally have to force yourself to come up with something.

Sad thing is, we are still in the prologue. Then again, are we? What is the main game supposed to be when all of this is just the introduction?
